Halaani Hammer

I'm really surprised there are no comments on this item as it seems to currently be one of the most sought after transmog items in the game (and rather difficult to get). Supply = rare, demand = high ... *shrug*. Anyhoo, these are my observations after farming the ever-livin' snot out of this hammer and finally getting it:

It's a BC expac ilvl 120 so it'll only drop off the highest level BC NPCs. I won't say non-elites don't drop it but I'm estimating the droprate is almost too ridiculously low to even be worth mentioning it as farmable. As it is, a 61 elite will drop mostly ilvl 111s, some 114s, on rare occasion some 117s and the 120s NEXT-to-never. Killing 62 elites ups your chances of ilvl 120 drops, but there aren't that many 62 elites around except dungeon bosses who are too busy dropping blues and purples (How often do you see a boss drop a green? Not often). There are however tons of 61 and 62 elites in Black Temple, so this is a great place to farm it.

I do however offer an even better drop rate and the way I finally got it. Ethereum prisoners in Netherstorm. Other than the rare blue item or the even rarer releasing of a "good guy" that you can't beat up and loot, ... the other 95% of the drops are ALL ilvl 120 greens. :) I've seen no other concentration of ilvl 120 greens anywhere. The downside: [item=29460] aren't plentiful. You can kill ethereals by the dozens to get maybe one or two keys, or you can buy a stack of keys off the AH like I did and put all the other greens you find or the unused keys back on the AH and make your money back.

So best ways to getting this hammer: 1) etherum prisons 2) Black Temple mobs {edit} distant 3rd) Karazhan

Found it on the AH for 15g. Win. Goes nicely with my Dark Iron set.

I had one drop last night in Karazhan from trash mobs. I was posting it in trade chat t see if anyone wanted to buy it. I had allot of whispers for it. Ended up selling it for 1.5k.
