Darkened Broadsword

Darkened Broadsword of the Champion is an excellent choice for levelling prot-specced warriors around 62-65. I've used it with much success, your death-rate drops drastically as you are basically a trash-tank without need of a healer. Get this if you can, and spam Slam like nothing else.

It's a shame nothing else looks like this weapon.

Not really, it keeps this sword unique, one of the few unique things left in WoW...

Seriously, this model is totally badass. Wish that Blizz had saved it for a better weapon.

What a great looking model, it does make you try to figure out a way to make this item a functional choice to equip. Truly this model deserved epic stats/quality. I rank this right up there with [li]http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33478[/li] as one of the best looking weapons in game.

I have to say when I saw this sword on a random death knight passing by. It reminded me of a certain other sword. The Brotherhood, from Final Fantasy 10. The weapon that Wakka gives to Tidus. Striking similiarity. Except that it doesn't have the fancy water bubbles. That would have totally meant that the model of this sword was taken from Final Fantasy 10.

Going to be absolutely amazing for Transmogrification. Check your local AH! Barely anyone knows this amazing model exists, so it will be pretty unique too instead of just Ashkandi #58035.

Just came here to say: Holy sh*t I can't believe they used this amazing model on a random green. I saw it on the AH (damn you transmogg for making me scan the ah for random items) and I couldn't believe it. Amazing model, amazing colors, and it was only 8g lol. Please if you see this, do pick it up!

just got one on my DK while lvling in nagrand cant tell if i wanna sell it or use it lol the look is epic!

i just picked up one of these .....of strength in outland questing my paladin. great for a green, and agreed the model is sweet. it reminds me of soul calibur as it almost looks like it has an eye on it.

A little late, but it's Soul Edge that has the eye, not Soul Calibur.

Droprate appears to be excessively low. I've been farming the Apparitions, as they are [i]listed[/i] as having the highest non-Elite droprate, but after several runs I've gotten nothing but the occasional Netherweave.

I have plowed through Auchenai several times on both normal and heroic, but it's never dropped.

At this time, I'm camping Mul'druk, but in spite of a large loot table, he's dropped nothing but silver and cloth.

edit: I decided to run up into Blade's Edge to kill Rema, as that also is listed as having a decent loot table. I got a sharpened fang. Back to camping Mul'Druk.

seriously it is so bad that they havent made a better weapon for this model it deserves better

I tallied up the percentage drop rates for this item. I have decided to farm Blades Edge Mountains as this had the overall highest drop rate percentage. I have only seen two of them in the AH in the last year, and that was one to each faction. I have also figured out that this sword is a great match for heroism plate transmog gear purchasable through the Darkmoon fair. Wish me luck, I only have the one and my warrior wants the other badly to match out the transmog set. As a side note a good back piece for the Heroism transmog set to match out is Vicious Fur. Wish I knew how to link items so you could see real easy here, but I do not and you will have to look it up.

Admiral Taylor is using a golden version of this beauty during the battle at the jade statue in the Jade forest.

Seems the best way to get this thing is to chain-pull Auchindoun instances. Should be easy work for a 90.

I wanted to mention that if like me you use Auctionlite to scan for this item make sure to enter every iteration otherwise the scan will not pick it up. I was using just Darkened Broadsword to look for this weapon and today just by chance I found an "of the Gorilla" model. Now to round up a transmog outfit around the sword.

Just received one of these from a [item=114120]. Been playing for over nine years, and it's the first time I've ever seen one.

I dont know how to make a new database entry but this is not a unique model(at least as of now), there is a golden jeweled version called thunderstrike falchion, i dont know where it drops since i got one from salvage crate, still is in my opinion better looking than the darkened version, but the model is still the same.

As mentioned in someone else's comment, I am almost positive that the rarity of these have since gone up since WoD due to Salvage Yard. My AH is jam-packed with over 15 of them for low price, whereas I could go a year without seeing one before. What a shame, too, I enjoyed the uniqueness. >_> Be sure to check your AH and do your Salvage both on your mains and alts if you'd like to get your hands on transmogs like this, though!
