Ethereum Phase Blade

It looks like the Phantom Blade, with a little different color (somewhat more green). My screenshot has a blue glow because I added an impact enchant.

This weapon is very unusual for a one-handed weapon in that it has caster stats but more than 45 DPS; most caster weapons spend none or very little of their item budget on DPS, so a paladin looking for a one-handed caster weapon with decent DPS has very few options. This is one of the best, and it is very easy to obtain.

I agree with you. This is not a tanking weapon, as a paladin's threat comes from holy damage; so a weapon with less dps and more spelldmg would be better. This is more designed for soloing as a retribution build if you want to use a shield (and with seal of retribution), especially if you are not focussing purely on melee stats but also have some spelldmg gear. (Yes i know, retribution is generally better off using a slow two-hander)

1. Retribution now gains little from spell damage. Don't stack it for heaven's sake. 2. DPS is not an attribute that an item's budget is spent on. Or at least, not to my knowledge.

I can see some use for this item for a protection paladin... as a leveling protection paladin you don't have much choise in defense items, most of them yield strength, so a spell damage weapon with decent damage does work while leveling in Outland.

I am currently 64 and using http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25915 which works great with some spell damage and strength. I am definitly getting this weapon when I hit 66

Its nice to have the added dps, not the usual 40, when, as paladin, you use SoL + JoW or reverse, cause there you wont benefit from the spell damage but from the dps, sure. Its the case of AoE grinding protection, you get spell damage for consac/holy shield, can use SoW/SoL etc and still do decent reckoning dmg with this. Expensive tho.

This sword isn't blue, the guy said his screenshot was enchanted with impact...the blade is actually a yellowish green color, submitting a screenshot today

For horde Transmog, your best bet to get this model is to buy this weapon from [url=http://www.wowhead.com/npc=19536]the vendor[/url] in Netherstrom. If you really want it for later, then I would suggest you go now, as this will probably be farmed regularly for AH sales.

FYI...Went alll the way out there to get this for trans but it wont let you do it. It says item must be of the same type and slot. I guess since this goes on your back it is not usable. Waste of time and gold.

Spiteblade from Karazhan goes on your back, and I have it transmorg'd.

You're probably trying to transmog a one-hander or off-hander. ONLY MH-only ones work.

I have been buying these, and selling them on the AH for around 200g. They sell pretty fast.

I bought one yesterday, and within 5 seconds of posting in trade chat I had two whispers. One bought it up for 750g. I wonder how much I could make off of this...

Be aware this is MAIN HAND ONLY and cannot be used to transmog a ONE HAND sword like most level 85 raid weapons are today.

In upcoming 5.2, the main hand restriction will most likely be removed so you can now dual wield this nice sword!

Double-check and make sure you have "show all" for the weapons. I wanted this for my rogue and camped him a few mins. Thankfully, I noticed the "show all" option before sitting there for hours. It was only showing daggers for me.

Can u please explain how exactly i select the "show all" option? I've been searching everywhere :(

Top right corner of any vendor window you will see a drop-down menu. Click it and select ALL.

This blade looks amazing with Mongoose.

Pro-Tip: In addition to sheathing on the back, rather than at the hip, the color of this blade is completely customizable with enchant illusions.
