These axes rock. I have 2 of em on my shammy. The only thing I have found is that the +14 axe skill bonus is actually only +4. I put a ticket into Blizzard and they said they were aware of it but gave no mention of when if ever to expect a fix. 04-07-07

its actually 14 rating expertise now (4.99 actual expertise), making these axes worth even more. combined with the orc racial of +5 expertise makes these axes the best thing you can dw till 68+. 4.99 expertise per axe (14 rating = 4.99 actual expertise) 5 expertise orc racial = 14.98 .25 x 14.98 = 3.745 less dodges and parries by what your attacking (or 7.49% more attacks landed)

After seeing this in the AH for about 100-120g, I thought that I never get this, but today, I found it with only 12g. I have no idea why it was so cheap, but of course, I bought it. Now I just need 11 levels to use it, but it's good to know that you have a good weapon waiting for you :)

I got this as a drop from a thornfang bug in Hellfire, put it up on AH. Went to bed came back 118g richer! I was only going to sell it for about 40, aswell. I hope whoever bought it enjoys it as much as I did!

Awesome axe! Been using it for a tanking weapon on my prot warrior. + expertise=greater chance to hit and greater dmg on hit=more threat when I use my Devastates and Sunders. Great weapon not only for Shaman but warriors as well

As a dual wielding DK, a pair of these will be greatly superior to the 2X Grunt's Waraxe combination you mentioned Not only are they much slower(thus better serve your strikes, and the ToT benefit) but they're also of a higher item level. Also, the expertise from these would be much better than the hit from the waraxes(personal opinion) and you also gain more attack power as the waraxes will grant a total of 44 AP, while these provide 32 str which equals 64 AP for a DK. Sorry about the wall of text, but in short, yes these are better than the thrallmar axes.

Expertise is of two-fold use to tanks. First, by reducing the target's avoidance, it improves a tank's threat generation (more of his/her attacks will land). More importantly, because mobs may attack more quickly after parrying an attack, expertise reduces the total damage that the tank may receive by reducing the chance that his target parries. The increase in attack speed varies (from 0-40% of the speed of the parried attack), and can stack if multiple attacks are parried in rapid succession, leading to a potential source of massive burst damage. Even more so if you're a Tankadin. Got this off of AH for 19g....a massive steal.

I know it's a world drop, but has anyone tried farming this and farmed it multiple times successfully, bcus i'm wondering what mob it drops off the most. I'd ove to have this on my tankadin, since a bunch of the tank weapons in the lvl 60 bracket r pretty shabby compared to this.

RE: Patrik... I wasn't trying to farm it, but got two yesterday. One from a chest and one from random quest trash. I recommend watching for chests and the AH. Was just checking here to see how I should price 'em.

The orange glow DOES stay on the weapon if you transmog to it. I have the axe off Deathwing with Landslide on it, and transmogging it to this item causes it to glow orange, not yellow.

(This answer cost me 145g)

These are the Axes the Grunt's used prior to Thrall's Horde, in warcraft 2 and 1 respectively Grunt's use this as their weapons, as part of the demonic manipulated hordes of the Dark-Horde, so yes these are by all means an Orcish-Weapon that was created during the times they were under the Legion's Influence, that asides if you X-MoG this weapon the orange glow on this overrides your enchant's glow.
