Decent offhand because it's so fast. Poisons proc all the time. However, hideously low proc rate on the life drain. I'm talking maybe once ever 10 fights, MAYBE. For comedic interest, I put it in my main hand and had no off hand. After 200 swings, it procced 1 time. If the lifesteal proc appeals to you, save yourself the cash and skip out on this one.

It's a decent off-hand for a Rogue. I paid 40g for mine, and feel I got a bargin. Not the best out there, but should see me to the high 60's at least.

I mean, if you ignore the proc, you have a ridiculously fast weapon for poison application, good DPS and decent stats. The proc is an added bonus, but as the above comment says, don't be thinking you'll be seeing it every other hit ...

I'v seen it going for 200g on Aman-thall... I bought two for 45g each... i thought the proc would go off more often... thinking about putting Lifestealing on one and getting rid of the other... Anyone know if that'll work?

Also try with dual fire enchants or dual lifestealing -- something with a very high proc rate. The extra damage b/c of the speed/proc rate may actually be worth the overall damage sacrifice of DWing it. For example, I had haste gloves, flurry, and a 27% crit rate with two of these on my warrior. My attack speed was constantly at .99 seconds. CRAZY FAST. I dual fiery'ed mine and the procs were going off like you wouldn't believe, esp. with the .99 second attack speed.

I have this on a shammy and I believe it scales with +healing.

So if you are a enchantment shammy with alot of +healing, you get alot more bang for your buck!

i believe he has about +250 and it heals for about 100+

I had this dagger for a while around level 65/66. I'm not positive it takes advantage of +healing, but for sure it does +damage. I was enhancement at the time and would drop Wrath of Air (which was *only* +damage then) for a fairly noticeable increase in the amount healed. Currently it seems unknown exactly how much this benefits from +healing/damage. Ancient Hakkari Manslayer uses the same proc effect, with a wowhead comment claiming 100% benefit from +healing/damage (200% after damage to target is considered). http://www.wowwiki.com/Ancient_Hakk

46661+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

To answer my own question. Yes it does scale with +healing. In a very large amount too. With +106 Damage and Healing the dagger would heal me for ~100. I'm going to test if the damage taken from the target is increased as well. With this data it would appear that it recievs half of +healing

Well, I actually picked up 2 of these on my rogue, 1 for each hand. The proc rate really is terrible; be lucky for it to proc once a fight thus making it practically useless. Overall, I'm currently using it in the offhand mainly for it's speed (And until I find something better) with the Ceremonial Warmaul Blood-Blade in the main hand, it's a nice little combo for a Combat Dagger Rogue. (Note: If intending to do any grinding, do NOT use this weapon, due to the speed they break insanely quickly.)

For those interested in farming with these, I can vouch for them only when they are used in conjunction with other items. -Obviously duel wielding 2 Blades of Unquenched Thirst -Lifestealing on both weapons http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16254 -Mark of Conquest http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27921 -Darkmoon Card: Heroism http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19287 -Tenacious Earthstorm Diamond http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25898 Mostly for Dagger Rogues. I'm a warrior so I upgraded to Revenger x2 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28311 and with Bloodthirst... well I didn't need much if any downtime to eat or bandage.

I've had it since lvl 64 and will until about 67-68 most likely, it's very nice for rogues like me who are mutilate/envenom spec and like getting often deadly poison procs from their offhand. It's worth the 50-60g on most servers. Some one above said they paid 150g for it???!?! WAYYY over priced!

104412+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I got this is a drop in slave pens, I'm fury specced but wondering if, after 2.3*, I'd be better off selling it? It has far superior DPS to the greens I currently have but flogging it for 50-80g seems tempting.... *WW obviously.

Use this on my 67 combat rogue and I picked it up at 64 for ~35g. Pretty good value for cash as its awesome for poisons. I always see it in AH, overall a nice, cheapish dagger which you shouldn't have too much trouble finding. Oh, and lol @ the proc.

Draconax+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

This item is actually incredibly fun as an enhancement sham. I was dual wielding these at one point on my sham, with about 400ish spell damage/healing from mental quickness, and I was getting lifsteal procs of over 400 dmg/healing. It seems to scale 100% with spell damage, making this alot of fun to play around with for casters, or enhancement shams.

It has pretty much been established that the proc rate indeed sucks. I can confirm roughly about one proc per 100-200 swings. 200k damage done and 3 procs, weak. If you're interested about the proc, forget this weapon. Speed and dps are decent for the level, though. 1.00 sec attack speed with SnD.

This isn't bad, but after playing with each a bit, I think Madman's Blade is a better offhand for Muti specced Rogues. About a 10-15% damage increase on my rotation (cheapshot, SnD->Muti, SSx2, KS, Muti) against all. Granted, this will still be better for combat rogues given the slightly faster speed for combat potency. EDIT - after looking at the damage range, I still stand by my claim, but after consideration, this dagger would likely be better in a protracted fight (raid bosses, etc) where more white damage would stack up over time. Why would you use sinister strike with a mutilate spec? Sure, you might not want to crit mutilate and lose a combo point but its way cheaper energy per combo point. 30 compared to 45. Saving 30 energy is huge.

31213+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I bought one of these for my mutilate rogue for 50g and was so happy with the results that I camped the AH for the next two days till I found another one. The proc rate is low but who cares about the proc? The DPS and speed make this dagger perfect for mutilate spec.

By the way, sinister striking with daggers is bad. Don't do it. A good rotation for leveling with mutilate (at least in the 60-70 range) is Cheap Shot, Mutilate, Kidney Shot, Mutilate, Evisc. That is enough to kill most level-appropriate mobs while hardly taking any damage, especially if you have one or two of these.

Iroared-1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It is a terrible mainhand for mutilate spec, you need a slow mainhand and fast offhand. Especially while leveling, you will not be using deadly poison, and most mobs will die within a couple mutilates, so offhand should be slow as well. This dagger is a good offhand for instances, but that's about it.

Perhaps they have improved the proc rate but I'm seeing this proc about once every two fights. The lifesteal proc scales quite well with spellpower. I have about 600 spellpower and I steal about 400 health with the proc with my enhancement shaman.

AidanNaut+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

i found this drop on a lvl 64 creep on my new enhance shaman, and I'm was getting one hell of a kick out of it, always watching my toons left arm stabbing someone in the kidney was worth the lulz. That is until i realized, this weapon could probably be the best grinding weapon ever. so i got a second one :D [Troll]: WTF u talkin aboot, thats teh *!@#tiest shammy wep evahhhh!1 normally, yeah, i would agree, but there involves a interesting strategy. normally, you are told to use slow one handers, one with windfury and one with flametongue, main and off respectively. but lets take a look at a

Tested this in the offhand with my 67 enhancement shaman. About 600-700 +spelldmg from mental quickness. 280 seconds of attacking a dummy using stormstrike and lava lash every cd, ~240k total damage, one proc for ~1100 lifesteal. I'll run a longer test some other time, but this is definitely a DPS loss compared to offhanding a venerable mass of mcgowan. Might be worth it if you find one cheap and don't have heirlooms, but the proc is not frequent enough to be reliable as 'surprise burst' in PvP.

Therulnig+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I had a hard time "upgrading" to this dagger as a PvP Sub rogue leveling through. Blood-Guided Knife is just so delicious. The lifestealing isn't reliable enough to factor in, so 22 AP and ~8 offhand DPS traded for 15 stam, 10 hit, and 9 Expertise in the 64 bracket? I think not. Maybe for Mut Rogues or something.

Just looted this one on my 85druid today .... it said chance to steal 8500 life, I thought it is awesome so I checked an AH. Nothing found, so I put it there for 1000g. When I logged 2 hours later, it was sold. Now I found out it is boosted by SP lol ...
