Well you dont' know every class obviously, as hunters will want the fastest possible melee weapons in order to regen mana as fast as possible with AoV. And if anyone says LOLMELEEBADK, yeh no crap, thats why you melee something like a healer or pet.

This is a nice sword and all, but not worth the amount of money that some would be selling it for. The grasscuter for marks is just a tad off of this sword, but 50 marks is very easy for anyone in decent BC gear to get running heroics. If this sword drops, great! But would save the money.

219499+12via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

This sword would be miles ahead of Grasscutter due to the hit rating. Unless something changed and I didn't notice it, hit rating is still the top stat for a combat rogue. Hope I get lucky and find one of these :)

Wrong. We don't need poison cap now, just specials. So 99 hit is all you need. For Mutilate: Stat EP Str 1.1 Agi 2.0 Crit 1.6 Exp 1.9 Haste 1.4 ArPen 1.0 Hit is worth about 2.2 below the yellow hit cap, 1.8 below the poison hit cap, and 1.3 above both caps. For Combat: Stat EP Str 1.1 Agi 2.0 Crit 1.5 Exp 1.6 Haste 1.4 ArPen 1.2 Hit is about 1.8 below the yellow hit cap, 1.6 below the poison hit cap, and 1.4 thereafter. From http://elitistjerks.com/f78/t37183-pocket_guide_wotlk/ EDIT: This is assuming you have 5/5 precision, duh.

249512+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Actually, you're wrong. At lvl 80, against a raidboss (lvl 83), with no debuffs decreasing chance to hit (or increasing chance to miss), the amount of hit you need to not miss a special attack is 132 (131.16) IF you have 5/5 Precision. If you don't have Precision at all, and the same rules apply, your special attack hitcap is 296 (295.11).

Bought this beauty for 2,7k and considered it cheap. Will be of good use on my rogue since it's better than at least 25man naxx sword offhands for rogues and to the poster few posts above me at least my spreadsheet rates agi over hit even tho I do not have 17% hit on bosses with misery and draenei buff. Actually after you have the 17% on bosses even crit beats hit. ;)

"of Jin" seems to be a reference to Jinn (Genie), which is, in Islam [and other beliefs in the pre-islamic period but most profound in islam] the closest equivalent to what we know in English as a Demon. A pretty fitting name for this sword, and the look of it I'd have to say supports this reference.

Also, if you check the "Same Model as" tab, you see Blade of Twisted Visions which drops from Zul'jin. Not sure if that's a coincidence or not, just pointing out what I noticed.

An interesting theory, but many others have suggested that the sword is actually named after Vulajin (a central member of the rogue community, and the creator of one of the major DPS spreadsheets for rogues). CAPTCHA - zacne: Acne while you sleep?

339525+17via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

No, "Jin" is Troll-anese for "Great". So it would be something like Vol'( The Great ). So it would be "Avool's sword of Greatness" But according the Vol'Jin's profile (Wowwiki), the name Vol'Jin is used as a title than name.

97808+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It's my understanding that this sword's name is an homage to Vulajin, a Troll Rogue in <Serious Casual> on Mal'ganis; he's one of the most prominent figures in the Rogue community. Blizzard frequently names NPCs and items in this manner. Move the syllables around: Sword of Vool-A-Jin
True, Rogues are all about specials but don't neglect that off-hand weapon.
Err, no. Dual wielding white attacks have the same hit penalty, your offhand doesn't miss any more than your main hand. And as stated above, hit is still a decent stat, but you shouldn't even gem for it.

EDIT: I love how I'm getting voted down but not replied to, where's your evidence that I'm wrong? Ask any rogue Elitist Jerks and they'll tell you about EP weights and how hit isn't that great.

You are wrong, any rogue that has ever run Recount will tell you that about 70% of all damage comes out of white damage. Go to www.maxdps.com and see which weapons are valued more. All of the items on maxdps are listed in accordance with the shadowpanther.net spreadsheets.

And yes, I voted you down.

it is Kalu'ak revered yes:) as for DW, here is a superb option for us hunters: DW this weapon and Widow's Fury or just 2 X Widow's Fury very good combo for hunters.. fast weapons, makes for high raptor strike crits, but thats not why they rock together, 81 agility, 124 raw attack power (+the ap from agi), 31 hit and 25 haste rating and crit from the agi. 2 X this would give: 76 agi, 124 raw AP+76 from agi, 62 hit rating. So slightly worse in every stat exept hit rating, but I'm not so sure you'd need all that hit rating, but if so, then 2 of th

Yep. Now that the slicers have been dumbed down in patch 3.0.8 that is a decent upgrade. Other possiblites include 2x Broken Stalactite (revered - sons of hodir) and 2x Fang of Truth (honored - wyrmrest). That harpoon is revered kalu'ak I believe.

I actualy think that Hatestrike from Naxx 10man is a better off-hand since that one gives 9 less hit rating but a lot more crit rating though. I prefer a nice hit rating and a lot of crit so for me Hatestrike is better. But if you go for the max hit capp its a nice sword indeed!

Sweetcakes+15via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The sword is really nice for Pre-Raiding content for Rogues(I guess other Classes also). But if you have doing 10man Naxx - You should be able to be have good enough gear to start Pugging 25man Naxx. You can kill Anub'Rekhan. You can get Webbed Death (Don't mind the "Feral AttackPower" stat, got changed in the last patch) and be using any MH but mostly a Fist Main hand and Dagger Off-hand (In which is the best setup for a Combat Rogue's and Mute also they can Dual Wield these). The Dagger has higher stats (just 10 less Hit Rating, but slightly more Attack Power a nice 31 Crit Rating, but more Agility which is always good to scale better w/ Greater Blessing of Kings).

Current Weapons Equip Kel'Thuzad's Reach Main Hand Webbed Death Off Hand With Double Berserking

In which I love the double proc.

And yes I know the Sword is BOE but... Still not worth getting over 2.5k IMO, and sure hell it's not the best weapon in the game so not worth wasting the gold if you don't have it.

112996+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I'm sure Webbed Death is great for a Combat Dagger offhand, and great in both hands for Mutilate.... But this is a SWORD. Why would I use this over Webbed Death as Combat? Simple: Sword Specialization doesn't proc off of a dagger strike.(Not even considering that Sword Specialization is currently broken on Live, anyways) No more needs be said.

46950+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It's been mathematically proven that Close Quarters Combat(Increases Crit by 1/2/3/4/5 percent with fist weapons and daggers per talent point) has a higher dps output for rogues. While this sword is nice, any FW MH/Webbed Death OH will out DPS a Cswords rogue of equal skill. edit: Should probably say any epic level 80 FW(iLevel 200 or higher), rather than any FW.

Overall nice sword for combat rogues. I seen it on Stonemaul AH for only 1100g and I was blown away (because of the fact I've been wanting it for sometime and it was usually a bit expensive): http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc266/trippinonx2c/WoWScrnShot_031809_111838.jpg I didn't have enough money lol
