I like that they finally fix the stuff but don't actually give it to us from the vendor. It's a very low % world drop. Don't expect to see this anytime soon and if you do, expect it to go for a ludicrous amount in the ah. Even the cut gem I expect to see selling around 700-1000g just because the design is so rare and very few will be able to cut it. Just another kick in the groin from Blizzard.

immense+9via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It's a random world drop so your chance of getting it is just as good as your chance of getting any other random world drop, this is NOT worth farming. My advice: Go do something to make a lot of gold and just buy it =) Ore prices are through the roof on most servers at the moment, go mine!

784558+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Theres no point trying to farm random world drop patterns that are attached to every mob. In tbc some patterns dropped from specific mobs that were farmable and some were random world drops which were not farmable. I farmed lw patterns for days sometimes before the farmable ones dropped. Even a few JC patterns in wrath dropped from specific mobs however these patterns are not like that reading the notes these would appear to be totally random world drops and unless that changes trying to farm them would be an exercise in futility. These are not farmable drops you could potentially kill mobs forever and never see this. Say it drops every 10000 mob kills on the server, you are just gonna have to be very lucky to be the 10,000th anywhere on the server or buy it when the person it drops for sells it in the ah.

There were a few in Lich King as well, but yeah. This stupid thing is highly desirable for any Agility-based classes, particularly bears and rogues, and there's no viable way to farm it. Also isn't always on the AH; I don't think I've ever seen it for sale on my server although I have seen the cut gems pretty regularly.

TheCrazyScot+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Yes, the first time when I was doing quests there. Then the second time I went back there to farm blackened dragonscales because they are easier to farm than in Twilight Highlands. I remember paying almost 1000g for the gem so I came here to see what the design was worth and figured I would try for 15k. If ever get another I will sell for a lot more.

*sits and counts all the posts with negative ratings* Boy, the retards, noobs, and overall idiots come out on droves when there's gold to be made, don't they? Well, this dropped the other day during a guild run of SFK, I won the roll and gave it to the guild JC, thankfully he's a nice guy and gave me a free cut. :D

I was farming for cloth using the Potion of Treasure Finding, and found this recipe in a Tiny Treasure Chest. I'm assuming that the Agile shadowspirit diamond recipe may be found in the chests as well.

Well for those complaining about the drop rate... On my server there's already *!@#load of people making either of those 3 ("Agile", "Reverberating" and "Burning" Shadowspirit Diamond) and the AH is full of it, more so than the common ones you (as an jc'er) get from your jc supplier like "Eternal" or "Destructive" .... Means, they're sometimes even cheaper to get than the common ones since it's really hard to keep up with the demand :o)) In my opinion the only ones really complaining about the drop rate are "perfectionists" who have to have every damn design this game has to offer and it can't go fast and/or cheap enough... ironically it always drops for someone "else" >.O Anywho, happy camping in farming zones... i'm gonna go and play the game

793197+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Well i am a jc'er and have been looking for this pattern as well, but the other 2, the reverberating and burning ones, you can buy from your jc vendor for 4 illustrious jc tokens, so do 8 days of dailies and you can have both of those, as far as agile goes, i know a couple of ppl who have gotten it and its currently selling for about 22k on Bladefist....happy hunting jc'ers!

florhl+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

All 3 of the new ones are random drops from cata mobs only, You can't get them from JC vendor. I think you are thinking of similar names...[item=52435] and [item=52440]? Besides wowhead would show them available from a vendor which they do not.

777092+34via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The really sad part is the person who gets this that isn't a JC will throw it up on the AH for 18k Gold, what they're listed for right now on my server, and then when they need one cut just tip the JC 10G. Gotta love WoW economics.

selvin+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Supply and demand have nothing to do with it. Most of the time JCs aren't crafting your stuff to make money, we can do that fine just using the AH. Most of the time I at least do it because a) I'm standing around wasting time anyway b) because I feel like being nice. You cheaping out by giving us pennies is less representation of the law of supply and demand and more of just people being cheapskates in the face of people being nice to them.

Mendric+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

@ Selvin, 18k? Time to change servers. Actually, MOP is supposed to be putting a cap on things on the AH, but no idea the details. You're right though about everything as far as the prices we pay ~vs~ what we make or "try" to make. I'm a completionist, so I just must have them all. Rare raid ones, I normally get rather fast due to my raiding guild and my standing. Due to the cheapness of people though, and 12 yr olds talking trash on trade constantly, I only craft for friends and guildies. I actually never even ask a tip for anything (ports, etc) yet people don't even say "TY". So screw em.

gbalkam+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

10g? I'd laugh and spit in your face. You want one, you PAY what I charge to cut them, not what you think you can "tip". Why should you profit 18k on the pattern and the JC only make 10g for cutting it? Not in MY wow world. 2500g minus 150 for your base gem is what yo u pay. Like it or level JC up to you.

338034+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I simply don't get the point of having anything...ANYTHING...on the game with a drop percentage this low. So I have a better chance of running accross a Time Lost Proto drake than getting a simple JC recipe. The logic simply escapes me...

Swifteye+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Believe it or not, I got this exact same drop two days in a row. Yesterday my Hunter got it from one of the dwarves in the area of the Dragonmaw dailies, and a few minutes ago my Priest got it from a Twilight mob in Mount Hyjal (the Goldrinn quests portion). Neither of these toons is a JC, the Hunter is 85 and the Priest is 80. Either I'm insanely lucky, or else the drop rate on this is not nearly as bad as people seem to think... probably the former, but either way I don't see the price on this recipe staying insanely high for very long. (I gave both drops to JC guildies... if people wanna hate me for my luck, at least know I took my huge payment in karma and good will rather than gold. ^_^)

769026+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Hmmm...did not realize this was such a low drop rate item...was doing one of the main quests for quest line and dropped off the first dragon i killed...no, not a JC...no, don't even need it....what to do what to do....:)

813091+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

ok, so, those saying its a worthless drop. I havent ben playing long. unless i have great luck, or its a glitch, i farmed two of these without knowing what they are on "the underbog" server and i put them up for 4k on the AH and they sold within the day. im just completing quests and got them without trying, i woudlnt say they arent worth trying for one bit.

Detroitchamp+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

They're going for around 3k on my server now. It still takes a while to find someone that has this pattern, but it's getting relatively common now. That said, I stock up on Shadowspirit Diamonds so if I ever do find a JC that has the pattern, I can get them all cut.

Darillion+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I'm on Sunstrider - EU. This recipe is currently selling for 2.6k and the gems are going for about 200-300 each. selling 13 at 200 will let you break even. Every rogue, hunter, enhancement shaman, druid etc. etc. wants this gem. Isn't a hard one to sell.

160636-2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

This pattern dropped on my warlock while questing in Uldum. She is NOT a JC. There's currently 1 in the AH for 4500g... I'm going to shoot for 4k and see if I sell it to some sucker. My main is a JC but I don't ever see making 4k off of tips for cutting it, and the cut metas are currently in my AH at 300g each, which isn't that high.

NoobIRL-2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

these cuts usually give a little profit once some people have them.. take my low pop realm for example.. I put 1 agile shadowspirit diamond in ah for 120g and 2 hours later bots / addon users cut it by 1 gold even if they usually sell at 200g and soon there are 20 for around 100g each and mine doesnt sell in 48 hours. funny.

my tip is, try to find these designs yourself - i've found every cata boe design by myself (just doing dungeons and quests), and some extra.

ProtagonistDB+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

No, since these are world drops you shouldn't "farm" for them; it'd take a minor miracle to actually get one. If the cut is being sold at more or less zero profit, you buy the gems you need for your own consumption off the AH. If you are a completionist and need to have the recipe to sate your OCD, just wait for it on the AH. At no point is it ever a profitable use of time to try to farm something that has a drop rate only measurable in the aggregate of an entire server's playerbase.

Bought this recipe off the Auction House about a week ago for 3k gold. A bit pricy, but a sexy meta cut no doubt. I am currently buying the Shadowspirit Diamonds from my seller for 275g a piece and I sell the Agile Shadowspirit Diamond for about 550g each on AH. Slowly, but surely, I am raking back the 3k gold and will soon be making some nice profit off of these.

Just got this Design off a forgotten ghoul in Tol Borad on my Warlock- wow my lucky day! and I am not a JC. Totally crazy of the wowhead price at only 635G - I have rarely seen this on the AH at all. I expect to sell it for a hefty price - I am also a completionist and have spent in amounts of 30-40K for a few patterns
