There's not much info on how the PvP items come about.

I received a [item=71952] while looting a body in Isle of Conquest. So far, I've not received anything for capturing bases, flags, towers etc or for winning a battleground.

So, all I can say is make sure you loot those bodies!

The info here is indeed relevant and at the time when some people weren't sure, this information was good to know - just in case. Especially for those who weren't on the PTR or didn't look at the PTR section of the site. Just saying, is all.

Just confirming getting the [item=71951] from looting/removing insignias off players while doing SOTA tonight, and also getting [url=http://www.wowhead.com/spell=100776]Grisly Trophies[/url] from them - counting towards the [url=http://www.wowhead.com/quest=29433]Test Your Strength [/url]quest items needed. All while the [item=71634] was in my bag, ofc. Please keep in mind that the quest is not repeatable during one DMF festival. After you complete the quest you cannot get it for the second time, as it states when you use an item for the second time "You have already completed this quest". In other words - you can do the quest once every month. Now, to all the naysayers, Blizzard has confirmed that these quests are to be repeated each month. Thanks, this was the information I was looking for! I get a lot of Darkmoon Faire drops from BGs, but was wondering if I should keep them or sell them on the AH (they sell nicely, for 150g a pop, on my server). Now I will keep at least one in the bank for use at the next Darkmoon Faire! +1

it's 2022 and i got over 10 of the quests just from doing BGs, I was wondering if it was worth holding onto the multiples and even wondered why i got so many of the same so this answers my question, thanks.

I'd recommend going to Isle of Conquest to farm for this. It's a 40-man, so there are a lot of people dying, and it has a lot more actual PvP than Alterac Valley. Most active combat is near the keeps, and the enemy keep is often your best bet. A few stragglers will periodically rez, only to be torn up by your own forces, leaving behind their corpses, fresh for looting. Be sure you're the first to snag their insignia; this isn't group loot.

Just a hint here guys. The item is BoP so you can sell it on.... If you got alot of it from PvP on your low lvl alt you can go sell it on AH for a few golds ( 200 - 600 ), but it depends on server. On sylvanas it goes for [b]450g[i][/i][/b] each. Its a quite fast way to grind golds on a low lvl char :-)..... Hope it helped

For those of us who don't like/won't queue for BGs, is there any chance these could drop from doing some of the world pvp? Halaa, Blue Sky Logging Grounds, etc...

No, these are BG only I'm afraid. However, they are quite easy to get on BGs like Eye of the Storm, Stand of the Ancients and Isle of Conquest, because of the large amount of kills in each battle. Simple loot all player corpses you can find and you will probably get one sooner than later!

Its pretty stupid that you cannot hand these items like you can hand example rogue decks example. I have got 4 Banner of fallen, 2xCaptured insignia and adventurer's journal allready since the first new darkmoonfaire. And they are stealing my bank space... So these should be repeatable

They are, just once every Darkmoon Faire...

Edit: It is February 4, the day before third round of DMF starts and I can pick up the repeatable quests already. It seems Blizzard fixed this. Yay.

I appears that they can be used only once as of today. I could however turn in the other 5 that drop from dungeons and raids.[/s]

These Darkmoon Faire artifacts cannot be turned in more than once, even in different months. You get the message "You have completed that quest" if you try to accept the quest from the item again. This does place a smaller limit in the total number of tickets one can earn every time the Faire comes to town.

Here is a macro for quickly determining which Darkmoon Artifacts you've turned in so far for that month... If you see a bunch of nil's instead just run it again.

This macro no longer works as of 9.0 (Shadowlands release). Check the macro by Erlik down below (or above it if gets upvoted above this one).

Those quests give good xp. For low lvl alts set of those items give full level up. If you have time and patience you can level alts only coming to DMF once a month. I have 5 ~lvl50 alts that did zero questing, dungeons and effort thanks to that.

Since the Shadowlands pre-patch released, it appears that the developers have reduced/removed the level requirements for use of these artefacts. Good news for alts and lower-level characters.
