Ok, I managed to scrounge up 12g for this on my server selling copper bars (4g a stack on my new server FTW!) for my currently level 12 Shaman. I've never had a meele toon before and I thought that a level 27 Blue axe going for 12g was nice, so I went for it. Will it work well for level 29 PvP (which I plan to do for a few weeks) and with windfury for my post-30 exploits? TWo major questions about the item itself that helps me: How often does it proc? Can it stack with itself?

Definatly not a good twink weapon, the Corpsemaker pretty much is THE 29 twink weapon. I used this while leveling on my paladin, almost two years ago, and I wasn't too pleased with it. The proc does a lot of damage, but it is over 30 seconds, and at that level most mobs die very quickly and the proc only gets a very ticks off. It might be nice ir it procs on your first swing, but odds are it'll proc in the middle or towards the end of a fight, making the proc do little damage. So, with it being a fast two hander, no stats, and a weak proc, I'd say it is a pretty bad weapon. Try to get what you can for it on the auction house.

A guildmate of mine gave this to my warrior alt when he was having trouble selling it. All things considered, it's not an especially good weapon. I was hitting harder with Smite's Mighty Hammer from Deadmines while soloing. However, I kept this on me for a while, and it did prove to be pretty useful when soloing elites, the proc wasn't too bad when the fight was lasting a while. Also, if you're the type who absolutely can't do an instance (I know I avoid lowbie instances like the plague, it's hard as hell to even GET five 20-29s on my server, much less competent players) this might prove to be useful, as many of the superior weapons for twinks come from instancing. I still wouldn't pay a massive amount for it, though.

Picked one up on one of my hunters at level 27 and kept it until 37. The rending damage seemed to happen once every 10 or so hits and it worked perfectly as a finish-up when my pet couldn't hold aggro. I'd reccomend it as a supplement to a good ranged weapon, but wouldn't break the bank to get one.

I rather enjoy this weapon. Yes, i would rather have the corpsemaker, but i like things to bleed. You guys say the proc isn't that good, or the proc is worthless if it comes late in combat. I think othewise. If it procs in the middle or end of combat that's 130 dmg you dont have to cause. And since it a dot, you can die, and still get a kill lol. I get the proc about 5 times a BG, and it helps while farming WC ( wailing caverns). Don't sell this axe short. Just because it don't proc much or not when you want it, dont mean it a bad weapon.

Ok odds are ill be purged for this but o well... I think this is a good weapon to have... I had it for my hunter at lvl 29, and i have no reason to complain about this. Proc'd fairly often, with standard lvl gear crit for 300+ auto and raptor strikes... Ive even seen this do mad dmg in the hands of a warrior... yeah its not the best, but i think its still a decent weapon. Again odds is ill get purged but i stand by my comment

This dropped off a Starving Hound after 8 kills. Extremely lucky but I'll be updating this post with more data if it drops again to give a better idea of chances. The hound can be found in the Scarlet Halls.
