Meh, I'd say these are quite awful. Blight is ridiculously fast for a 2h weapon, making it a poor choice for warrior attacks such as Whirlwind or Slam. No stats means that the weapon is worthless for hunters too. As for the proc, I could see a use for it in PvP to prevent rogues and druids (the only healer that can't remove diseases) from restealthing, but I dislike DoT weapon procs in PvE due to the crowd control complications they bring. Unless I'm missing something, or unless this happens to be a decent paladin weapon (I wouldn't really know), I don't see a reason for crafting this thing, much less buying one.

Before normalization, the weapon damage formula was Weapon speed*weapon damage*misc modifiers. After normalization, it's Constant(based on weapon type; 3.3 for 2h)*Weapon damage*misc modifiers. Since weapon damage is based on weapon speed - since weapon dps is pretty much the same from equivalent weapon to weapon - slow weapons still hit harder on instants. So weapon speed still matters; just not as "much" as it were; there are plenty of better weapons out there

Yeah its not slow enough for paladins. Ideally you want some thing with a weapons speed of 3 or more. plus no Int, Stam, Agil....nothing. the proc is not that good either. I think its one of of those items that blizz puts here to distract us.

Neither does the ability proc while in feral forms. Picked it up for my level 48 kitty after the 3.0.8 changes simply because I found it relatively cheaply. Slapped on fiery, which seems to proc right about once every five or six attacks once you throw in instants . . . Blight never procs.

From the improvements in 3.1, the proc has significantly increased. So far, for me, it has proc'd in every fight more than once. Include that plus the higher dps, and slower attack speed, you've got yourself amazing weapon for the 40s' bracket.

This is amazing for arms warriors. I just had it proc 3 times in one fight and the crits trigger deep wounds. Here's the screenshot (I was training my weapon skill my warrior doesn't actually suck that badly): http://i47.tinypic.com/30wtpph.png

I wouldn't call that a "comeback". It was removed from blacksmiths of the appropriate level and given to legion blacksmiths who have no use for the pattern. My 42 blacksmith has the pattern, which requires legion 1 blacksmithing. In her pattern book, under "not learned", the pattern says it is accessible for 300 level blacksmiths.
