Edit: Apparently I was incorrect. Apparently Blizz is making this like Wrath where your high-end raid gear will carry you nearly all the way until the new level cap.

Fun fact: As you equip this bow, you may notice that it actually grows and shrinks, depending on whether you have it on your back or in your hands. (This works for Night Elves anyway.)

To Confirm, on Live this still drops from the same mob. No information about drop rates here yet, but I got it the second time I killed this rare mob Sarnak

I've been camping/killing Sarnak most of the day today on Doomhammer-US. Spawn Times I've got (all server times): 10:43 am 11:40 am 12:38 pm 1:28 pm 3:50 pm 5:04 pm 5:55 pm Still no bow :(

i find it rather unfair that this weapon (unlike ALL of the other ilvl 420 epics from Jade Forest rares) is BoE, and thus can be sold on the AH... on one hand.. i find it unfair that hunters can just buy this weapon to give them an edge at 85... on the other hand, i feel sorry for hunters because that means the one rare that drops their weapon is going to be camped much more than the rest

I killed him today and got the bow. First time. I can get sha crystals from its so I don't know if to disenchant it or sell it lol.

Had a very strange encounter with this rare mob. Killed him for the first time today and not only did this crossbow drop. I also got the rare world drop bow [item=87474]

Its so rare, there over 50 on my realm's ah. Rare world drop you say lol

Rare has a dictionary definition as well as in-game terminology, tehkogah... An item can be rare as hell and green quality. Or it can be an epic that you see non stop. Color is more indicative of level rather than occurrence.

In my opinion, this is one of, if not [b]the[/b] best transmog choice for a Pandaren hunter; I fell in love with it the moment i saw it in Zao Sunseeker's hands in Temple of the Jade Serpent before the encounter was removed. It is still nonetheless a solid choice for other races as well. The engraving detail on the forestock is fantastic, and the massive arrowhead on the front looks rather menacing. My only complaints are the lack of a bowstring and the lack of a rear stock, but it is still a marvelous looking weapon nonetheless. As a side note, this weapon is in fact BoE, so it's worth checking your local AH to see if it's at a reasonable price before going off to camp Sarnak.

I also fell in love with this crossbow and I'm crushed that there's no transmog choice for this skin until level 85!! IMHO, no other bow really fits as well on the Pandaren Hunter. And other races may want it also, cuz it's really cool! Please Blizzard, make the Jade version a green (no stat buffs or +1 to something useless maybe,) for making it off the Wandering Isles. Please?

I dont understand. EVERY level 85 rare mob in jade forest drops ONE epic weapon, and they are all BOP, except this one, the bow. Why is this one the only one thats BOE? Is it because ranged weapons are exclusive to hunters, so they decided to make it BOE so as to not "make it go to waste" if it drops to one of the other 10/11 classes?

Thanks to that, this guy is massively camped on my server, theres like 4 of the bows on the TH (all with ridiculous prices i cant afford), and i've never even seen him alive despite visiting his cave multiple times while lvling my main hunter from 85-87. I even saw a horde priest camped outside just fishing, obviously waiting for him to spawn.

On a side note, every other rare in the map is left relatively untouched/un-hunted. i ALWAYS bump into [npc=50808] on my way to check out his cave. I cant complete my [achievement=7439] achievement, got every other kill except this guy.

On my server this guy is ALWAYS there and alive. I sell the bow for 10k practically every other day. If he's so hard to find, spend two hours camping him at 3AM and get it over with.

i have seen it drop a few times, but dont even sell at 1k. I have disenchanted all of them.

Saw this on the Action House for 3k. Brother wanted it for his hunter so I almost bought it. Looked it up here and gave it a shot. Dropped first try. Never can get that lucky for myself. Around 2 am Central time.

Killed him twice, no bow. Respawn time was under 1h. Then I checked the ah and saw the bow for 900g buyout, what a bargain ^^

This thing is ENORMOUS

I just bought this crossbow on Aggramar - US for 499g, appears I got an awesome deal according to the buyout price listed above. Or did I pay too much? I didn't have too much gold to begin with but according to my research this will last me to at least 88-89 range before I find a dps upgrade so seemed like a good investment. What kind of prices are you all seeing on your servers? Not sure if maybe it's lost value since MoP has been out for awhile now ... Thanks for any input.

You got a pretty good deal imo. I play on a few servers, and on 2 of the 3 this thing is pretty routinely listed for between 350 and 600g - but the crazy part is that on those same servers at the same time, the [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=71366]Lava Bolt Crossbow[/url] and [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=60210]Crossfire Carbine[/url] (ilvl's 378 and 359 compared to this one being 420) are routinely listed for 3500g and up. Why anyone thinks people would pay 10x the price for a ranged weapon that much lower than this...anyway, I think at that price it's comparatively a GREAT deal!

And I'm also baffled at why the cata ranged weapons are on the AH for a higher price ... I am assuming that it has something to do with transmog options some people pay well for transmog gear. :/

Just got one out of a [item=87218] dropped by the rare spawn [npc=50355].

a cool thing about this crossbow, is that the arrow placed on it will launch whenever you auto shoot or arcane shot etc.

over the course of about a week and killing him roughly 10 times at various times of the day i finally got the crossbow to drop. on to Arcturis
