Agreed. I got mine on Vashj off of a junkbox at lvl 73. The DPS is nice but with no stats, it seems to me to be doomed to the rep of the night blade. I don't see how this is an epic dagger. If I recall the Nighblade's DPS was 10 less than the S1 daggers which were very easy to get. I realize this is not a PVP dagger, but I'm making the comparison of ease to aquire. So I wonder how this will stack up against the new PVP gear at 80.

This is just another dagger that you can get from a "junkbox". There are different epic daggers you can get at each level from the boxes. I submitted a screenshot. I got mine on the first day of expansion. PP FTW!

I'm curious how the proc rate is on this taking into account how OP the Night Blade was pre-nerf.

I never asked what the ArPen would be, I was commenting on the proc rate compared to the Night Blade. The Night Blade had a proc rate that would proc itself (and sometimes proc again) meaning it was essentially at the full 3 stack the whole time, making it so overpowered that it was better than epic BoPs and was selling for 3000+g. Blizz nerfed it so bad with a hidden cooldown it became useless and some folks who spent thousands of gold on one were (understandably) $%^&ed-off. Making a new version of it got me wondering if they were going to throw a bone to people and make it a little more

To help judging this after the Armor Penetration to ArP-Rating change: 155 pen rating should be worth 1085 Armor Pen (judging from the fact that level 70 items got convertet 7 Penetration -> 1 rating), or 3255 at 3 Stacks. Do not get confused though, cause ArP works different now. This Rating will convert into a %-based armor-ignore and it is yet unknown how much rating equals 1% at 80. Very nice a long with the other two fairly easy to obtain epic daggers http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40702 as well as http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37667 a combo of any of them would easily hold you until you can get the 25man nax and kel'thuzad daggers

According to EJ, and as of build 3.0.1.8970, the new ArP is ~7.40 @ 70 , and ~15.39 @ 80 to 1% reduction.

I received this item at level 75 from opening a 'Reinforced Junkbox' I had mailed off to my alt for safekeeping (in order to max my lockpicking each level). Surprised, to say the least!

It was as far as I know the first one looted on Stormscale US - if it sells great, if not I have a decent dagger for my rogue until I get Naxx weapons! :)

several questions... Is it easy to maintain the 3 stacks? If you DW it, will you get 2 buffs that stack to 3, or just one that refreshes more often? to me, it seems like the 60% (930) armor penetration would make up for the lack of stats if it double stacks and is easy to maintain...

well I'm PvP guy and usually i have 1-2 stacks 3 stacks are really rare to see (got it in my MH)

found one in a lockbox today..asked in trade for an estimate but no one could give me a price. someone told me "a lot" but thats not very useful. has anyone sold one yet?

Well I just bought one for 1500g. After I watched it fail to sell for 3000, then 2000, then 1600. Of course there's one up now for 3200g so you kever know I guess.

Got one on Anvilmar on my 80 rogue and sold it for 1500. Dropped while picking boxes at the Avalanche in Sholozar Basin. I've also picked up 2x Krol Cleaver there, so worthwhile. I kept one of those and sold the other for 2200.

Just bought one for 600g. Couldn't believe the price I got.

I sold the one I got for 1500g. Guildmate of mine got the one day after I got mine, sold his sooner and for 2k at that.

For those of you looking for epics pickpocketing here is my experience: If you go to your Achievement window, look at the Statistics tab (on the bottom) and go to the Character screen (Left Side Nav) under "Wealth" it will tel you the "Number of Items Pickpocketed". (Note: this is total "Items" pickpocketed, mobs that result in coin only do not count). Here are a few of my personal stats: I got my first epic (Spineslicer) when I had Pickpocketed 3312 items. I got my second epic (Krol Cleaver) when I had Pickpocketed 5977 items. I got my third epic (Spineslicer again) when I had Pickpocketed 13686 items. --quite a gap there. I had begun to think epics didn't drop anymore. I have currently pickpocketed 15465 items. Still only the 3 epics.

The wealth tab has since been removed due to privacy issues.

i hope you know that this dagger comes from a reinforced junkbox not pick pocketing lol and currently some of the best pvp rogues (before they get up to really high end daggers) duel wield these. they dont stack but you will maintain a 3 stack on ur target. these daggers are usally used with blade flurry, expose armour, and killing spree. down um pretty quick :)

That means that you will actaully do [b]more [/b]damage to bosses with more armor. ([url=http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37723]Incisor Fragment[/url] is also a good choice, but it only gives 291 ArP (on demand and for 20 seconds tho)

You know, I kinda really doubt whether you would do more damage if you get that combination if a boss has more armor. I don't think Blizzard would do that... There's probably some complicated mechanics behind it that some poster after me will know and post (hopefully), to make sure that that won't happen.

It's not so complicated, actually. ArP just stops having any effect at all past 100%. Once you've reduced their armor to 0, that's it.

Any proof on that? cause I heard it can go past 100% and reduce armor to the negatives.

Recently, ArPen was changed, and is now capped at 100% penetration. Once you get all the way in, you can't go any further.

Got one today on Dentarg EU on my 371'st pp. With 2 stack proc saw a 1k dmg difference on backstab. For those of you trying to get this I suggest follow the earlier comment about the avalanche circuit.

picked up krol cleaver in about 2000 pp, 1000pp later i got the dusk blade. Krol cleaver i have in AH for an insane price (10k G) the dusk blade i might keep. I'd love to keep the cleaver but its going to pay for one artisian flyer and part of an other by the time i sell it.

Note to anyone farming these: it takes a long time! But they can be farmed, also have only got about 4 blue gems out of 3200 pp. Avalanche is the place to be, each run takes about 12-14 minutes, you get about 30-35g a run plus i average about 25-30 junkboxes, and about 14 runic healing pots (pp and out of junkboxes), combine that with the trash and food drops and you get a decent 300-400g an hour out of that place. Of course when you get one of these epics, that shoots your gold per hour up a few ticks.

I just found a great looking dagger to go with my Nightslayer Set on my Rogue.

Just got this out of a big crate of Salvage from my Salvage Yard

got this off a pickpocket of a [npc=31258] while farming for the [item=36862].

Sick transmog for rogues wearing either T1 or T2.

Confirmed that this still drops, as of 7.2. I got it to drop from The Black Temple, though it was a huge trash clear that I did, so what it dropped from I cannot say.
