I'd love to see GNOME babies... probably need a magnifying glass to see one.
Indeed. In fact, it is a well-known fact in population biology that gnomish infants are at high risk of predation from newly-hatched hummingbirds.

Farming tips: 1: ignore comments about farming keys outside. it's impractical and a waste of time. 2: first go left through the gate and clear the hallway around Bael'gar 3. chances are you will be a bit short. at this point you can go back to the entrance, clear detention block, or the circle that takes you pass the Ring of Law. In some rare cases you may have to do both. In some extremely rare cases you might still not have enough (you need 12 keys) --- at this point I recommend just cutting your losses and opening the coffers with what you have and resetting. farming that 11th or 12th key is not time efficient. 4. if you're a looter, empty your bags completely, bring a portable mailbox, and take advantage of the vendor at the entrance. looting greens can be very profitable here! do not open gem bags from the coffers, leave them in your bags until you're at a mailbox/vendor. 5. the dark keeper is a waste of time -- if he's in the Hall of Crafting, it's directly to the right when you leave the coffers, and you could pick up an extra green or two if you want, only adds about 60 seconds to a clear. It's a hike to his other 3 locations, I don't recommend it. quickest ways to BRD: Direbrew Remote (1hr CD) Warlords of Draenor Challenge Mode portal to UBRS (8h cd) Mana Poof BRD Pet Battle Dungeon Teleport (no CD, but only from Legion Dalaran or Boralus)

Seems like a good strat overall, but some runs I got 12-13 keys, most runs I got between 6-8 keys, killing the same mobs, but what I know is that I've done more than 10 runs, opened around 80-90 chests, and I havent seen this drop at all.... maybe Im just unlucky, but I just say it so you can expect this to happen as well

The 12 Relic Coffers are all located in "The Black Vault" which is where [npc=9041] is located and shown on your map. Unless you are very familiar with the twists & turns of this instance, then after you have the keys, recommend returning to the entrance and using the Mole machine there. Select the option "Into the Domicile", then out onto the semi-circular balcony & into the vault.

The reason to grind these are for three new pets coming in 9.01 from a vendor in Oribos. Keep in mind that these are PTR vendor items, and may or may not be implemented.

DO NOT ACCIDENTLY VENDOR THE GRAYS! Stick them in the bank until you have what you need. There are NINE vendor trash items that you need to buy all three pets: 1.) Ground Gear From Harvest Collectors near Variance Keep, use or create a lvl 10 Hunter to farm these. Higher levels will NOT get the drop! 2.) Robble's Wobbly Staff ( Farm the mobs in Firelands dungeon) 3.) Very Unlucky Rock ( From bag reward sometimes from fishing daily, or 100% drop from Lucky Horace's Lucky Chest in Nazmir.

Pet two: 1.) Rotting Bear Carcass (Easily found in Escape from Durnhold Dungeon in the Caverns of Time. No Rabbit's Foot from the lions there though, just lion meat.) 2.) Dark Iron Baby Booties (Found in the Vault Chests you unlock in Blackrock Depths with Coffer keys looted from NPCs) 3.) The Stoppable Force (Looted from Steamvault NPC Serpentshrine Sporebat)

Pet Three: 1.) The aforementioned Rabbit's Foot, from the Human Starting area Worgs. 2.) Large Slimy Bone (from the Slimes inside and outside Wailing Caverns) 3.) A Frayed Knot (Easily looted from Scarlet Friars and Scarlet Zealots Near the Scarlet Monastery) NOTE: This may be actually the most difficult item to get, as it has to be PICKPOCKETED by a Rogue! The good thing is there is no level restriction, Rogues from Level 24 (when you learn pickpocket) to level 60 can loot this item. Actually All of the Scarlet mobs in Tiresfel can drop this, as well as the farmers in the pumpkin patch near Brill.

Keep in mind all these items can be bought on the AH, but the price will surely go up, as the drop rates in the world have been severely nerfed!

I hope this helps you pet collectors, and any corrections, hints or insights are very welcome!

Heads up: YOU CANNOT USE ITEM RESTORATION ON GREY ITEMS! So if you accidentally vendor these greys and you don't buy it back within ten other items being vendored... you're SOL. The lowest-quality items that even show up on vendor restoration service are Uncommon (white). I know this because I accidentally vendored [item=62072] and it wasn't on my list for restoration. (And I got the Staff by total accident while leveling, too... /sigh)

Sarabande+13via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

OK guys, either turn OFF your auto-grey-selling Addon or SEND IT to a bank toon when you get it. I usually have few enough grays that if I make a mistake, I can buy it back. WELLLLLL . .. I had too much and the damn thing disappeared. AND because it's GRAY, you can't even use recovery. But isn't GRAY only for USELESS items? Once it's of value, it should AT LEAST be white. I hope they change it after the patch.

AntikytheraBB+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

came here to work out why someone bought the booties for 5k on the AH. realised ArkInventory addon sorts them into "pet" category instead of "trash" for a reason. I'm assuming all the other items do similarly. i've probably been selling the trash for years without realising.

If you're going to plagiarize someone's comment (literally copy-pasted and then shortened), at the very least give them credit for doing the actual work. User @Hyrcyne wrote the original (lengthier and more helpful) version of this comment, posted on each of these pages: [item=186535], [item=185919], [item=186537], [item=186536]. If you would like more information regarding the acquisition of these pets, I highly recommend you read @Hyrcyne's original comment as they elaborate in a much more helpful manner!

I did not have a good time with these. At 10 minutes per run I was at this for roughly two hours before I finally got the booties. If you're a transmog collector, I would recommend combining the two activities inside BRD.

Dark Iron Baby Booties drop from opening relic coffers in a specific region of the legacy dungeon called Black Rock Depths.

For those who do not know, or maybe forgot because it has been a while: The Black Rock Depths dungeon entrance is inside a cavern located between Black Rock Summit and The Searing Gorge. Once inside the dungeon, use a strategy to loot the keys and then open the coffers to try for the Dark Iron Baby Booties.

There are 12 coffers in the treasure vault and each one requires a key to open it. You do not need all 12, but the more the merrier. Any more than 12 keys will be lost when you exit and come back into the dungeon. If you accidentally leave the dungeon, you will lose all your coffer keys.

You can use the dark iron teleporter (mole machine) near the entrance to travel to the domicile, which is near the treasure vault.

Before you do, try to collect 12 keys first to maximize your chance of getting the Dark Iron Baby Booties. Relic Coffer keys drop randomly from the elite dark iron dwarves throughout the dungeon.

Strategy includes: Circle the Ring of Law, circle the detention block, go down the middle of the detention block. Traverse the hall from Baelgor to the opening of the chamber that leads to the dark forge. Use the mole machine to go past the Grim Guzzler to kill the two packs of elites.

It took me anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes to get 12 keys, so a full run was almost 30 minutes. I got Dark Iron Baby Booties on my 5th run. So it took me a little over 2 hours to get the item.

Good luck, and I hope you get it sooner than I did.

To get to the [object=160836]s, select "Hit the button labeled 'Into the Domicile'." on [object=207401] or [object=207402]. Once there, turn right, down the stairs, straight through to outside on the balcony and then it's the first door on the right at [npc=9041].

Illidana-4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

So how does one get past [npc=9041] to open the coffers without killing him and thus saving the instance for a week? I was able to do it on my mage with invisibility and ofc other classes with stealth. Just wondering for pallys, locks and other non-stealth classes.

lillicat+9via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

This is a dungeon and doesn't have a weekly lockout. Simply exit the instance and select the "reset instances" option. You can enter 10 instances (combination of raid and dungeon) per hour, per account. Happy farming!

KEEP THIS ITEM to get a battle pet. [npc=156769] in Oribos will trade specific grey items for 3 different battle pets.
