One of the faster one handed swords you can get your hands on. I used with my Paladin (protection spec) untill I got a much better raid drop. I used it alot in WSG, because of its speed I had alot higher chance for Seal of Justice to proc, slowing the flag carrier for a 2 second stun more than once. Also, the chance on hit proc is very frequent at least once per fight.

A decent off hand sword for a rogue until you get to the Outlands. However, while great for grinding etc, you don't want this sword equipped when fighting elites that you plan on gouging or blinding, as the proc dot will do a good job of breaking these =/

I have been using this sword on my paladin from level 51 and will probably still be using it by the time I get to Outland. The speed means a lot of procs from Seal/Judgement combos for health/mana. White damage is also fairly respectable, for AoE grinding. The proc happens very rarely for me - only four times today, against a few hundred mobs. This has been a good replacement for the Dazzling Longsword, though I found the proc on that one more useful. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=869

This is now exceptionally rare due to the pattern no longer being in existence in-game. It's also exceptionally valuable due to being the only rapier in-game with the pre-existent fiery enchant which erases the disaster that is the Landslide enchant.

I'm sure that, at least one of my two blacksmiths, can make these (amongst several other rare weapons). Guess I'll be making a few --when I finally get a laptop and return-- and enjoy having thousands of gold(?) for the first time... :|

I can now confirm you can definitely still get the original [Plans: Blazing Rapier] recipe. Thanks to Mmrrggll, a well-known YouTuber, I now have the recipe. What you do is, hop on your Blacksmith. Go to the Searing Gorge. Go to the middle cave in the North/middle part of the Cauldron area. Cave coords are 47,46. Go into the cave and start killing all the Fire elemental guys in there. They spawn ridiculously fast. What you're looking for off them is an item called Lava Oil. This will show a green on-use item that makes you immune to lava damage. You may have to clear a few packs before this drops, but once you've gotten it, head back out of the cave, mount up, fly to the second cave to the west. Cave coords are 41, 53. Note that this cave entrance is below the ramparts/walkway, but not all the way at the bottom. It almost looks like a stone hut entrance. Go in to this cave, walk along to your left until you come to a bridge. Once on the bridge turn to your left so you're on the edge of the bridge facing the nearest wall. Move your mouse cursor over the lava below and directly in front of you. Your mouse cursor will eventually hover over a treasure box and will turn into that cogwheel icon. Once you've found the treasure box, open your bags and use your Lava Oil potion. Once your potion buff is on, jump into the lava, open the treasure box and the plans are automatically given to you. Please note, there is no way out of the lava once you've jumped in. The potion only lasts for about 20 seconds or so, and you will not be able to get out. Plan on dying. :P Enjoy your shiny new Blazing Rapier! All credit goes to Mmrrggll for his truly fantastic video. :)

Got the plans for the Blazing Rapier on 23-Sept-2018. Few things to clarify: 1. The oil dropped very fast for me(is still mandatory to open the chest) 2. At the beg I didn't had BS(at all) and I was not able to see the chest in the lava. 3. Went Dalaran(legion), took BS, did the Strange New Ores quest. 4. Went back in Searing Gorge and the chest was there.
