Not really worth going out of your way to buy this. Unless you see it up for cheap, or have it drop, it really isn't that usefull. It has no stats except for the 66 Attack power when fighting undead, however around level 35 you really don't fight many, if any at all undead.

I bought this on a whim. Comparing it with the Bonebiter from the Scarlet Monastery quest that everyone should do as soon as possible, it actually does less damage against Undead than said Bonebiter. Don't waste your money on this.

Using this weapon can turn out to be profitable in Razorfen Downs, if you're a sick, SICK person, you would buy this, slap Savagery on it, and do Razorfen Downs with your alt 10 times, then swopping it off for a better weapon. Check this out - undead mobs for 33-42 levels. Not many, are there? Certainly not useful, shouldn't get this from the Auction House for that ~20g as it is pretty much a useless item. Loksey's Training Stick has the AP if you want to get some sweet amounts of that. +40 Attack Power at level 31. Also, using 5 parts of the Scarlet-set will boost your attack power by an extra +15, which you can get at this level range. I have no idea why I'm posting this here, as this makes no difference - it ONLY GIVES THE AP AGAINST UNDEAD!

I actually got this off the Lesser Water Elementals in Stranglethorn, I know they're not on the list of possible drops but apparently they have some vague chance to drop them. :) http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=691

I bothered to log in just to post this. I see a lot of people posting here during TBC and afterwards, all warriors/loladins mind you, scratching their heads trying to figure out a use for this weapon. I am a veteran player, and about the only use this weapon ever had, is for a low end geared Hunter doing the Stratholme/Scholomance/Dire Maul run to get more gear back in Vanilla. I don`t know if you remember how much AP toons had back in Vanilla. A Rogue/Hunter in D1 had 600-700 AP, and if you were in blues/greens you had ca. 450 AP. 66 AP if you have ca 400 AP is a big deal. Nowadays, this weapon like much of the original content, has lost its raison d`etre, and newbies don`t understand why it ever existed.

World drop out of a chest in the Darkmist Caverns around 31/20. I was leveling my troll hunter (38) at Brackenwall Village, in Dustwallow. I was leveling cooking (white spider meat) and on my first run I got three Iron veins, one tin and one Gold with an Aquamarine (sp) gem. Near the end of the cave by the Boss spider, it was in a treasure chest. I just like the way it looks :)

I'm not sure about that (the lack of stats part). I know it's not usable for mog (found that out last night...), but I was able to use Doombringer to cover the blacksmith iLvl 365 sword.

This item was NOT xmogable as-of 5.1 and earlier, but its sister models the Executioner's Cleaver and Death Striker were always xmogable if you wanted this model. However... since 5.2 the Hellslayer IS NOW XMOGABLE! (and there was much rejoicing)

This item is Transmogable as of writing, picked this item up while i was farming silk for a tailor and was surprised about its price but was tempted to keep for xmog, as far as previous comments go most said this item was no longer transmogable, but I just transmogged my Great sword of the Ebon Blade into this axe. Pretty happy you can xmog this as I do like the look of it for my DK.

I personally love this weapon for my wrathguard(using [item=42459] ) . It matches the colors of the demon very well, and looks the right size. Most of the other two handed weapons i've tried on him become either laughable toothpicks, or are ugly slabs of steel more suited as clubs then swords.

Obtaining two was kinda tricky, and i eventually just relied on the auctionhouse for this beauty. It is a worlddrop from what appears to be 35-42 level creatures. (In the cataclysm a lot of mobs changed level... hard to say, since i havent managed to track anyone down who has had a drop since)
