Core Marksman Rifle

The cores can usually be provided by the guild, making this item manageable in cost. However, that's kind of a waste of materials. Save cores to make FR gear, because a hunter can get Striker's Mark http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17069 or Blastershot Launcher http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17072 Fairly easily. If it's wanted for any reason, be aware that the AP is ranged only.

Post-BC I picked up all the mats for this gun for less than 100g. My guild offers all the MC mats at vendor pricing since there is no use for them any more than for crafting; and arcanite bars were selling for 11g ea. at the time. All in all I'd say it's worth it; the slightly faster attack speed is nice and it will be fantastic for the bit of PvPing I do and for levelling at and beyond 60. If your guild has these mats and you're levelling a hunter, there truly is no more unique (or cooler-looking) gun in the game. Since it's highly unlikely you'll be in MC to pick up either of those weapons,

Well, first of all you can't train with it beyond level 60 as you mentioned, and the attack speed is very low on this weapon, while hunters want it to be high so they can hit with Aimed etc.

It's a pretty good gun, but the mats aren't really worth it. The only thing I would get this gun for is it's graphic. Super Soaker 5000 ftw!

A fantastic way to get a cheap gun to match your [transmog-set=226 domain=www] or [transmog-set=278 domain=www] Ya can farm the mats in one or two MC runs which as of 4.3 take about 30 -45 minutes solo on a hunter.

For when you want to snipe somebody on the moon.

This should be a good Tmog for Gnome Hunters come Legion!
