Gwyneth's Runed Dragonwand

This makes me think of the WoW-based machinima series "Return: A Warcraft Saga" created by [url=http://www.rufuscubed.com/]Rufus Cubed Productions[/url] (link takes you to their official website) where the main character Voldigar's wife is named Gwyneth. This item may or may not be related to the series, but otherwise I don't know any other Gwyneth in the Warcraft universe. Just a thought.

Gwyneth means "happiness" in Welsh.

I think it's actually a reference to [i]The Last Dragon[/i] series. It's a book series based around a family that makes clay dragons which are actually alive. The main antagonist, the grandmother, is nicknamed Aunty Gwyneth and is a witch trying to control a real, non-clay dragon. Present day setting. This is just my idea though, as it's "Gwyneth's Runed Dragonwand" and makes me think of Aunt Gwyneth.

looks like there might be a bug here the spell power increase is a use thing should be a Equip thing...

This just dropped for me tonight. I can confirm that the text in-game looks just like this entry. "Use:Increases spell power by 20." Equipping it starts a 30-second cooldown, but clicking on it does nothing. Equipping it does seem add 16 haste and 20 spell power according to my stat pane. Nice wand, just a little oddness with the text and cooldown.

Got this tonight myself. The "Use:" is just a text error which should say "Equip", as it grants passive spell power as well as the haste and does nothing when "used",

This is by far the coolest looking wand in-game that I have ever found!

Hovering over this in World of Warcraft Armory shows Source: Karazhan... weird.

It's a world drop, and those have a habit of showing up as Kara as a source.

The text has been corrected and now Says "Equip" and not "Use" And yeah quite a nice looking wand :D

This may also be a reference to the dragonlance novels "The legend of Huma". There is a Gwyneth, and she is a dragon (but in human form, for most of the time).

I dont see it writen here yet. The wand has a lv 78 requirement to use. altho its ilvl 174 while other level 78 wands (for ex. [url=http://www.wowhead.com/?item=36989]this wand[/url] has a regulair level 187 ilvl. I asume this is a underscored wand.

Nah, the lower item level is due to the fact that it's a world drop, whereas [url=http://www.wowhead.com/?item=36989]your comparison[/url] is an instance drop. World drops in Wrath have generally always been a tier to two lower than instance drops of the same required level.

Looks like this wand has the same 214 - 398 damage like Illidan's [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=32837]Warglaive[/url]

This BoE still drops, I got mine in [zone=3456].
