As per a previous post: you may loot a "Scourge Device" while doing this quest. If so, run back to Anastasia right away and turn in the quest it gives. The quest you receive sends you back to the beach to kill NPC's that are a part of THIS quest...should save you some time :)

Attention Casters: The Servitor Shades teleport right on top of you when you first engage them in combat. Be sure to move a step or 2 back after your first cast so the stay in front of you.

Any and all undead on the coast will give you credit for the quest.

Edit to add: The scourge have a chance to drop a horde only quest item called Scourge Device, which starts the quest It's a Scourge Device

Alliance version: Scourge Device
It's a Scourge Device

(This post was made during the WotLK Beta, Build 8820)

Several different types of NPCs count as completion towards "Chillmere Coast Scourge".

The larger, purple murlocs (e.g., Unstable Mur'ghoul, Mur'ghoul Corrupter, Mur'ghoul Flesheater) count, however, the smaller blue murlocs (e.g. Chillmere Oracles) for some reason do not, so don't waste your time with those, as they additionally have an annoying hex that turns you into a murloc. The humanoids (Necrotech) and wraiths (Servitor Shade) also fairly obviously count as Scourge.

An item that starts a quest, Scourge Device, has a chance from dropping from any of the Scourge you're killing. It will lead you back to "Bring Down Those Shields", which as of 8820 is bugged.

Description

I came here to investigate a rumor about a Scourge presence nearby. I expected murlocs along the coast down below, but I never thought I'd see this! The Scourge are down there, and they're changing murlocs, and anything else they can get their hands on, into the walking dead! {class}, we will not suffer them to create more of their kind, especially not from murlocs! There is a ramp down to the beach just northwest of the camp. See to it that you deal with the Scourge in a timely fashion!
