MageJust learned this with my mage, and here are some important advice.
You need to go to YOUR RACE city to be able to learn other portals/teleports.
check the lvl requirement.I was thinking "i need to go to orgrimmar to learn how to teleport to orgrimmar", and that was wrong! (maybe with exalted rep you could do it), as an undead i went to undercity and learned every portal/teleport i could (exept for Ancient Dalaran).

If you haven't noticed, The Theramore Portal and Stormwind Portal are the same model
Yes, a portal opened by a mage is usable to anyone his/her group or raid.
