The extra treasure described is this: [item=87391].
It will always contain a small amount of gold, and then some extra item(s). High chance at Windwool Cloth, mid ranged chance at ore (Ghost Iron Ore and Black Trillium Ore/White Trillium Ore only), and very low chance at Mote of Harmony. It can also drop random greens at a fairly low chance, or random blues at an even lower one.
All in all, the average value is going to vary by server, but if you're on one with high cloth and ore prices, you should be able to turn a pretty hefty profit from these.

I just finished a 1 hour farming session where I got 18 chests.
Loot:
Windwool cloth: 144
White Trillium Ore: 6
Black Trillium Ore: 3
Green items: 2
Money: 45g 72sAll in all im highly disappointed. Atleast on my server windwool cloth is dirt cheap and barely worth looting. I was hoping a chest was an almost guarranteed Mote of Harmony considering in the hour I farmed I got 40 motes of harmony from the mobs and the boost would not be that big. I bought two potions for 500g each and I will sell the other one on AH and atleast get some of my gold back.
(it says5.4.2 above next to my name, but I can assure you, my game client says 5.4.7)
So patch 5.4.7 just got installed, and
THESE SEEM TO HAVE BEEN MASSIVELY NERFED...read plz
I have used these dozens of times on my mage tailor, and have never experienced these results.
I ran though Howlingwind Cave as always to farm cloth and motes...
using 3 runs, 1 potion each time (110g for each potion)
1st run:
15 greens (vendored as spirit dust is dirt cheap on my server)
22 motes of harmony
3 grays
7 stacks of stacks of windwool
NOT A SINGLE PLUNDERED CHESTafter repairs and vendoring items, 460g + the cloth and motes...
not bad money for 20 minutes, but still, NOT A SINGLE PLUNDERED CHEST...hmm, the RNG must be kicking my butt....so I run again,
2nd run:
8 greens (again vendored)
14 motes of harmony
1 gray (vendored)
2 cooking ingredients (vendored)
5 stacks of stacks of windwool
1 PLUNDERED CHEST that contained (3g 71s)after repairs and vendoring, 302g + the cloth and motes....horrible compared to last run and even moreso compared to previous patches...1 last run....
3rd run:
5 greens (vendored)
12 motes of harmony
2 grays (vendored)
6 stacks of windwool
2 PLUNDERED CHEST (containing a total of 5g and 2 black trillium)after repairs and vendoring, 312g + cloth and motes
So I decide to do a 20 minute run without drinking a potion. I used the WOW timer ingame, and here are my results:
19 motes of harmony
7 stacks of windwool
8 grays (vendored)
3 cooking ingredients (vendored)
9 greens (vendored)after repairs and vendoring, 391g + cloth and motes (plus I saved 110g on a potion!)
SUMMARY:
As you can see, the numbers are quite similar, and you'd expect that. We are paying for these potions to add chests, not change our regular loot, so something is not working right all of a sudden. This is still my fave place to farm cloth and I'll continue to use it, however, after patch 5.4.7 perhaps this is a new bug, but I don't feel like this item is currently working as it should & until I read that the chests have been buffed, I will no longer purchase these potions. I understand that this is a small data sample, but for my gold, it is enough to not spend the gold for them. Please upvote if helpful. Thanks
**sorry for the long post - just want to save others some gold ..peace!
