This did 22 and 25K on silkworms at the silkworm farm, so based on what Banba said, it may vary. It is MoP's version of EZ Thro dynamite in that it is not soulbound and does not require engineering to use. A PvP friend of mine observed that it could be a lot of fun in battlegrounds. I think it can be useful during that period of time early on in the release where players have to rethink their mana/rage/energy/chi management. If they get caught in a pinch, they can just bomb the thing. Or they can bomb it because, well, you know, BOMBS.
Another bonus is that it has an animation of a shark quickly swimming towards its target. This is why Engineering is, IMO, so cool and fun.
