For those who are wondering "Oh no, where is my Tame Beast at?", do not fret. Blizz has put it into the "Pet Utility" button. Thankfully, if you don't care for how that is set up, you can remove the individual ability from the Pet Utility button and place that on your task bar to individually click it, instead of having to use a drop down (or drop side/up) ability.
If you try to tame a beast higher level than your own you recieve a system message on yoru screen that says your level isn't high enough for this beast.

You must dismiss your current pet before you can tame another one.
Tames a beast to be your companion. If you lose the beast's attention for any reason, the taming process will fail.
You must dismiss any active beast companions and have an empty Call Pet slot before you can begin taming a new beast. Only Beast Mastery specialized Hunters can tame Exotic Beasts.
