TheWoWDBWhen grinding for a specific mineral, keep in mind that the same mineral doesn't respawn every time. For instance, if you mine iron, it may come back as a gold or silver vein, or thorium may respawn as truesilver, and vice versa.
That said, make sure to mine all the minerals in an area, not just the mineral you're looking for, since the one you want may respawn in its place.

Does anyone know the radius, in yards, around one's toon that this will display nodes on the minimap?
Having the ability to stealth can be very beneficial for a miner. There are often minerals in caves, and it can be a great time-saver to stealth to mineral veins versus fighting your way to them.
