This item is a great way to level up engineering, useful against mobs because of the stun, and it sells to the vendors for a fair bit ^^.
Sadly, because of the changes in recent patches (post 2.0) these grenades are no longer viable as a level 60. Previously, there was no need to even use Thorium Grenades as Iron was a far cheaper and just as effective tool.
