Smelt Hardened Khorium

Came here looking for information, and found a void. So - can anyone confirm or deny whether this still exists?

Since there isn't a lot of information about this recipe or how to obtain it, let me shed some light.

Firstly, this recipe is actually called [item=35273] and it has a fairly low drop rate, between 0.12-0.7% , and can drop off any of the trash mobs found in the [zone=4075]. This recipe ONLY drops to those who have the mining profession on that character AND who have [skill=2571]. You MUST have Outland Mining maxed to 75 in order to learn this recipe. This recipe is BoP.

As of patch 9.2 in Shadowlands, this recipe is STILL OBTAINABLE and it dropped for me after my first few trash pulls before reaching the first boss. Additionally, if you want to repeatedly farm for this recipe, you can pull all of the trash up to the first boss - don't pull the boss - kill all adds, loot, and if you havent received it, you can run out of the instance, reset, and try the same method again, up to 10 times per hour.

Also be advised that if the recipe doesn't drop for you, don't be discouraged. There are many, MANY other rare items that can drop from the same trash mobs with this same method of farming, which is still one of the most successful and profitable farms in WoW, especially for TBC BoE gear. If you're receiving a lot of items and not sure what their current market values are or are unable to tell which items to sell on AH and which to vendor, I would recommend downloading the TradeSkillMaster (TSM for short) desktop app AND TSM addon in game, inputting your server into the app, and it will display all current market prices for all items in the game during your gameplay. This will help make this a much more beneficial farm for you, even if you don't get the recipe you're looking for.

It does still exist. The recipe still drops within Sunwell Plateau.
