This thing is, I dare say, one of the best pvp trinkets for a rogue/feral druid in the game, period.

You can buy purple gems with badges now, they are going to be pretty freely available to all now as people will probably use their badges to buy purple gems for a quick buck

And once again Blizzard gives raiders the edge in PvP by requiring BT gems to make this trinket. I guess you can buy them on the AH if your server has a lot of endgame guilds.
