This item is pretty neat. However, it doesn't do anything other than the effect listed on the item. Causes no damage or anything of that nature. It is fun to freak people out a little with it though, I had a friend of mine wondering what the heck I was doing to him. ^^;
All in all, its just something to play with. :)
I remember RPing with this when I was on my DK. We were the "Cultists of the Depths" and we would use these to create Shadow Gates and create rituals.
:P Very fun toy.
