I am doing this on 2 engineers and I have noticed something very useful. Stop scouring
as soon as you proc a prototype. Immediately dissemble it and then scour again until
you have 15 notes for a new recipe. Get that new recipe and repeat the cycle. Also note you can end up with more scrap than you started with when you proc a prototype after a
scour or two. That is a major reason for dissembling immediately.

Why do we have to select the scrap when it's the only thing that can be used? Why isn't it autoselected like in Invent?
For the curious, these are the grey items I've gotten:
- [item=36811]
- [item=36812]*
- [item=36813]
- [item=36814]
- [item=41337]
- [item=41338]
- [item=42930]
- [item=42931]
- [item=169130]
- [item=169132]
- [item=169135]
- [item=169138]
- [item=169139]
- [item=169143]
- [item=169145]
- [item=169146]
* Notable mention: [item=36812] is taken by [npc=156769] for [item=186537]. It had been somewhat annoying to get to drop due to level limits from monsters in the overworld (though could be obtained from the raid boss [npc=33350]). Its abundance from Scour has driven down the price on the Auction House now though.
The ones with shared icons, [item=36811], [item=36813], [item=36814], [item=41337], [item=42930], and [item=42931], seemed a lot rarer (just few each). On the opposite end, [item=169132] and [item=169139] much more common (dozens each).
Tooltip
