The only thing that I found to help is at the start. You're going to Surge Forward 3 times and scoop of the Vigor orb, then you need to do Skyward Ascent without slamming into the cliff and swerve around the rock outcropping at the top. It's sadly still possible to pull it off and have the angles wrong and not pick up enough speed to make the timer, but nothing else I tried worked.
Un'goro and Uldum were annoying because of how unforgiving they were with the time, but at least the race is fun. But getting stuck in three seperate trees every time just isn't.
