Gilneas Gambit Advanced: Gold

A tip from a fellow player (Soïchiro, thank you again!) that saved me for this race: pick-up the first green orb several times, until your Vigor bar is nearly charged (fly in a 8 in order to do that). And then spam Surge. This will easily give you the maximum speed you need for the whole race.
Managed to get gold (71.998) for my first try. This works for the Reverse race too.

I felt that this one has a tight timer.
I used Skyward Ascent a few times near the start because it seems to get you further than Surge Forward for the same amount of vigor.
This gave me enough vigor to surge forward continually throughout the middle and end of the course.
You have to pick up every glowing green orb along the way or you will run out of puff. Best of luck.

This was definitely the key here. A couple of carefully timed Skyward Ascents and making sure you're always in the highest vigor-reload zone is essential due to the tight time. Use the "Dragon Rider" add-on for a speed gauge, and you'll be more effective on this.
