Gilneas Gambit Reverse: Gold

A tip from a fellow player (Soïchiro, thank you again!) that saved me for this race: pick-up the first green orb several times, until your Vigor bar is fully charged (fly in a 8 in order to do that). And then spam Surge. This will easily give you the maximum speed you need for the whole race.
Managed to get gold (72.929) for my first try with this method. This works for the Advanced race too.

The timer for this is so ridiculously short. Good luck.

After 14 tries or so I finally managed to get gold on this race. The main problem is that the timer for gold is set so short that you need to maintain top speed during the entire race.

Best tip I can give is to install the Dragon Rider addon which adds a bar that tells you you current speed.
This bar has two vertical stripes across it, the rightmost stripe is when the red trails behind your dragon mount appear. You want to speed up to this speed right at the start, and then never let your speed drop below that point again.

Also try to use your boosts a little bit earlier than normal in the first part of the race, so that each boost progressively gets you to fly faster and faster, up until you're able to get to the absolute max speed with a boost. Then keep using your boosts to get back to max speed as quickly as possible, but not too quickly or you'll run out of vigor and drop below the required speed for gold.

Doing all this I was able to complete the race in 73.858 seconds, which is barely gold. This race remains hard.
