How To Strain Your Dragon

I Found a nice way to do this achievment ( 19/11/2012 ) If you auto run Just before Instructor Windblade does the Cinematic You get teleported away but the Quest is still going you can use your own mount To fly through the checkpoints, The Speed buff from clouds do not affect you on your own mount but if you have 310% flying it i easily done i ended up passing the ( Black serpent Rider who usualy beats me after the first 3rd checkpoint Note i have done this on two characters So abuse it while you can Good luck and Hope you do it Remember just before the cinematic Auto run Gl and happy hunting :)

You can use this TomTom macro to show nodes on your maps, but beware that the crazy arrow usually doesn't select the proper "next" checkpoint, so I recommend you turn off automatic tracking or simply ignore it, instead use map or minimap for overview of the race checkpoints.

It's much easier to the shortcut with a picture. As you can see you mostly save time on the last part, just be sure you get the checkpoint marked before turning and such, it's easy to miss these flags if you rush too much!

You might as well finish with 10 stacks of [spell=110668] (for In a Trail of Smoke) as it's on the way, not hard, just don't deviate too much, there are plenty of cloud rings to fly through! Good luck and practice a round or two if you fail, you are bound to get first place for How To Strain Your Dragon within a couple of tries!

You can only try this achievement while on the daily quest The Sky Race, which is periodically available upon hitting Revered with [faction=1271]. It is not up every day, so check back every day and have patience...

You need the daily to be up only once: keep retrying by abandoning and restarting the quest.
