Southern Reach Route Reverse Challenge: Gold

god damn this race , i hate it

I've spent legitemately one entire Sunday and still cannot beat this. Best attempt is 0,335 sec slower than Gold.

Edit: Day 2 (Monday) - still no chance, did not even get close to my best attempt. It really feels they just OVERDID it with this one race where you have to replicate some crazy run of a guy, who in the best spent JUST a few hours trying to go under 68 seconds. 70 seconds is still a tough one, while 69 sec would be VERY tough. But 68....

Edit2.: Day 3 (Tuesday) - I am about to enter the game and try this new "trick" I noticed in a video on youtube where the person who got GOLD and went under 66 seconds used a "trick" which seems very important!
Even in low elevation gains it is mandatory to use the "jump" skill Skyward Ascent and play with the camera a little by pointing directly up to the sky then back again front, INSTEAD of just using Surge Forward. Because if you don't do so - you will be actually slower, since any elevation gained during Surgi Forward results in speed kill, while this is not the case with Skyward Ascent along with the camera play.
The camera play is important, and you will realize it yourself, as it is completely different outcome depending on where your camera is pointed at prior to using the Skyward Ascent skill but also how you rotate your camera after you use the skill. When I write it here and read my comment it seems very logical but I am not sure why I did not realize this earlier... Guess that's why the race is called CHALLENGE.

Edit3: Day 3 (Tuesday) - OMG ! Hype! It's not a trick but an actual game-changing technique! It took some attempts to master it and at the start of the attempts this night I was barely going under 70 seconds, but then finally I actually got in complete control of this dope move and I finished in 64.969sec! This is faster than any video I saw on youtube, including the one where I noticed this trick!
To summarize what is the difference and why this is so powerful: Normal "Surge Forward" gives up to around 1100% speed, while with "Skyward Ascent" and some camera play you can literally jump in front of you with a speed of 1250%. Without using some WA or addon to measure your speed it will be hard to comprehend this but the numbers don't lie, and this race proves it. The WA I use is "DragonRiding".
To summarize how to do it, and again, be advised it will take some attempts to master it: Use "Skyward Ascent" (by hitting space button, I find it easier to execute this) and simultaneously move your mouse very fast (in the split of a second) up (to the sky) and down (beneath you) while finally you bring your camera in the direction you want and continue with your race. You have to be diving under the rings and just when you are below the ring to do this technique. Sometimes you will miss the ring - reset and don't give up. Also - be advised that if you turn your camera for too long up and/or down you will actually either lose speed or not gain the-above-1100% speed buff.

I am sure many of the good "racers" out there use this without even realizing why they are faster :D Anyway, I hope my comment helps you in your race and you keep your sanity!

I cannot master the skyward ascent trick, and I had got as close as 6 tenths some weeks ago, now with emerald dream talents (where only the one that allows you to regen vigor the 2 different ways combined when you're close to the ground is useful in challenges) I got as close as 160 thousands, with a bit of skyward ascents, but not when the path was fully horizontal, and when trying to use skyward there I always lost out, so I instead used surge forward at that part close to the sea and it worked, 67.6, so 4 tenths under, for a total improvement of 6 tenths over my previous best try.
