best polearm for lvl 20??

This dropped from a thunder lizard when I was a level 40+ hunter getting my skinning skill up and farming leather. I put it up for about 16 gold on AH and sold it.(pumped up prices on Lothar server.)

This is a random world drop, don't post what you found it on, this isn't thottbot.

Question: How does a lower level polearm sell for more than www.wowhead.com/?item=13058 on the auction house?

Possibly Khoo's Point is not as much sought after due to its very fast speed, making it less good for say a warrior's instant attacks.

Strange this sells more than Khoo's point, with the level20 reqs on this it rules it out as a twink weapon so I don't know.....personally I had this on my pally at lvl20, paid just 5g on the AH, and answer the first comment, polearms aren't trainable until level 20 so yes I would dare say this is the best polearm for a lvl20...certainly did me great until I got Verigan's fist.

Question: Do all classes learn Polearms at level 20? (I'm a hunter) Can I learn them?

Yes hunters can learn Polearm at level 20, they also learn dual wield at 20!

New in 3.0.8: Druids have the ability to learn Polearms! Making this a great weapon for low level Feral Druids :)

Druid's cant use polearms... I'd post a good alternative for you, but I personally don't know much about druids

No, druids need to go with agility, not strength unless you can pull of agility AND strength on one weapon. Especially feral combat druids

Got one of these for 1g off the AH today. PRETTY sure its worth a tad bit more than that. But I guess you get a lucky buy every once in a while

Although this is a really good polearm, it pales in comparison to the Armor Piercer ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6679 ). I would suggest running RFK a few times (the Armor Piercer is an almost guaranteed drop) and just waiting until 24 to use that polearm. Its free and easy to get.

Yes, but this [b]weapon[/b] has [b]armor[/b] points on it. You don't get much 1337er than that. Yes. Weapons WERE designed to harm and not protect, but for a tank or protection warrior/paladin you don't get much more awesome than this.

The best defense is a good offense. Go figure.

and are exhaulted with tranquillin which is not going to be very likely unless you are a bloodelf.

it is likely....just do tranquillen quests. approx 1 hour worth.

With the changes coming in 3.0.8 this weapon will make a fantastic druid weapon with the armor bonus and strength.

this will be best for druids in bear form, for cat form i would suggest http://www.wowhead.com/?item=5200 if you can get it

actually cat form gains 2.4 atp per 1 point of str, but only 1.6 atp per 1 point of agility, so this could be better. and in fact, agility would be better for bear form for avoidance. (tanking)

i really dislike the "pointing up" position of some polearms. the models that have them pointing down look much cooler.

I love this thing, I'm currently using it on my dwarf hunter, I got it off a Mog'rosh Brute whilst trying to farm the Mo'grosh crystal for a quest!

Not a hunter weapon. Find something with agi, intel, staming, [i]something.[/i] Hunters have absolutely no use for strength, and armor shouldn't matter with your pet holding aggro.

Maybe they're just using it cause they like the look or something? Not everyone is so hyped up on stats. Some people enjoy the game. Sides its not like they're gunna be raiding or what not at 20.

Why was I using it? It was the fact that I had created a new character on a realm with virtually no Alliance population, so I couldn't find a group for Deadmines, meaning that I had no good gear, my shoulders were level 15 greys and my weapon was a crappy quest reward green that had nothing but 8 str, a blue randomly drops and you expect me to [i]not[/i] use it? And yes, about the only reason I made a dwarf hunter was for fun, why in the world if I was a making a serious character would I make a dwarf?

Cuz dwarves are seriously funny. In a serious sorta way. Now don't give me that look.

As someone who mains a dwarf, I have to ask, why [i]wouldn't[/i] you want to be a dwarf?

It's longer and has more armor then your average spear or polearm.

Good weapon on a 20 ret pally or fury warrior

Great item for any Balance or Resto spec'd Druid using Bear form while waiting for another tank to queue. If Bear or Cat isn't your spec, no real use for agility, and you can't use a shield. So hey, look! A two-hander with defense to boot! Be sure to stock up on high-def and high-stam gear too if having multiple sets for multiple forms is your thing. Not much worse than a clothie Bear.

I have one on my paladin, i greed rolled, won the roll....it dropped from one of the fire elementals in The Stockades, a very rare chance...

Can confirm this weapon still drops. Looted it from a large chest in the Hillsbrad Foothills on 1/12/2023.

Dropped from [npc=48017] while I was farming for [item=8491]. I have around 10k kill in the zone, most of it from the infected dudes. Still no cat. :<
