Hanbok is the traditional Korean dress usually worn on formal occasions, like festivals, or for celebrations such as weddings.I am korean so i was excited to get this dress back in the day but the dress graphic was a let down.
This Hanbok is not traditional formal wear but traditional informal wear. These would never be worn at a wedding but good for things like birthdays and homecome-ish pictures.
I wish blizz would at least make the pattern at the bottom traditionally wrap around the whole dress.
Also add a Otgoreum (Wide cloth ribbons from the jacket) which is the most important part of the Hanbok. The Hanbok's quality and beauty is judged by the way the Otgoreum is formed.
Also make the Jeogori (Top shirt) and the Chima (Bottom dress) have a distint look of speration ... it's too smooth and looks like one piece. ...or we they can omit the word wedding and then it will be more accurate.PS this is not me trying to subtitute Real life with a game. I already have.
AFAIK, there are four robes that DO NOT bind on pickup/equip, have NO level requirement, and are item level 35+.
-Simple Black Dress crafted by Tailoring, roughly 2-5G in mats.
-Royal Dangui sold by vendors in UC, SWC, and Moonglade, ~29G.
-Green Wedding Hanbok limited supply sold by Geenia Sunshadow, somewhat rare, ~14G.
-Formal Dangui limited supply sold by Geenia Sunshadow, VERY rare, ~51G.
-Haliscan Jacket Added in patch 2.4.3, Tailor Pattern bought from Hauty Modiste in Tanaris. This is useful to note because it allows you to apply one of the newer Burning Crusade enchants, such as Exceptional Stats, Exceptional Health, Resilience, Restore Mana Prime, etc., making them real powerful chestpieces.
They become so powerful that really, your best alternatives are to acquire the mats for +4 Stats and apply to superior chests in the 15-19 level range. But one important feature here would be lost... and that is the superiour chests would be soulbound, and therefore not reusable.
TLDR version: You get to make a resellable chest that's real good for leveling lowbies from 1-20+.

This item is still in-game. I just bought one two days ago. Special dresses come up extremely rarely - I'm a druid so often use Teleport Moonglade to get back to Kalimdor from Eastern Kingdoms or Azeroth from Outlands, and I check this NPC every time I pass her for special dresses. In two years I've managed to get three green wedding hanboks, two red traditional hanboks, and haven't yet seen the Formal Dangui (still hoping!)
With as many Korean players as there are, you'd think they would make something like this look right...
Just bought this from the vendor. It spawned at the same time as another limited quantity (1) item, the Red Traditional Hanbok. These actually showed up 3 days after I bought the Formal Dangui as well.
2023/08/15 19:30 (Tuesday/reset Day) - Vendor Purchased. Went to check the AH just to see and there was the "Dark" Green Wedding Hanbok for 695g.
I thought thats it really waited all this time and I could have oooo DARK Green not this one :)Geenia is still making these maybe not as fast as she use to but if you are patient and get on her waiting list :)
Maybe they'll go back and give it an appearance update in Cataclysm? I would love an outfit like the one you described.
Respawn Confirmed 4 days; First spawn 8/15 7:30p Second Spawn 8/19 7:30p
Any idea how often this spawns?
caution: several of these items are Misc Armor (as opposed to cloth, mail, etc). not all enchants stick to them. (example, nothing above +3 stam sticks to antique silver cufflinks)
still in game as of 6-6-10
This item is indeed still in game. I got three of them in three weeks. I have been looking for the Formal Drangui but it has not dropped in that time that I have seen. However, I have gotten three of these and two of the Red Traditional Hanboks.
So the respawn time on these is much shorter than for the Drangui.
The sad thing is that there is zero market for these on my RP server. I've tried to sell them even at cheap prices but there are no buyers. My guess is that these items have been in the game so long that anyone who really wants one for RP purposes already has it.
It's still in the game. Just got one about one minute ago.
also just purchased. still exists in game.
Best bet for the Royal Dangui is to make a horde critter and camp the UC vendor - seen it there 3 times in 6 months which is more than I've ever seen it in moonglade (that being none >.<) EDIT: I missed that you were looking for the formal not the royal...nevermind.
My plan was to port back to Moonglade often in an attempt to get the rare dresses.
After a while I only checked if I was passing through Moonglade for some other reason.
Today was my lucky day! It was there on my way to Everlook!
