It kinda irritates me that this requires as much truegold as the new crafted boe 2-hander (masterwork elementium deathblade). You would think that a 1-hander would require less mats than a 2-hander.
For those of you'd that like to know the base materials needed for a single one is as follows:
- 24 Pyrium Bars (48 ore OR 8 Elementium Bars + 8 Volatile Earth
- 88 Volatile Fire
- 80 Volatile Water
- 80 Volatile Air
- 40 Elementium Bars (In addition to the ones above)
- 16 Volatile Earth (In addition to ones above)
While it's true that this could be used by shield tanks, the Unbreakable Guardian, another Molten Front craftable, is better-itemized and has a slightly lower material cost.

Interesting how DW Frost 1-handers go.... Soul Blade --> Elementium-Edged Scalper --> Obsidium Cleaver, all direct upgrades from each other with the same secondary stats.
Not only good for DPS, but nice for shield tanks (like Soul Blade).
Plans would not be purchased from the new raid faction, Avengers of Hyjal. If they do have plans, it will be the 378 crafted armor.
ilevel 365 is below the raid tier of gear, so these weapon patterns are likely bought once you progress far enough to unlock the vendor in the new quest hub. That is my guess, and far more likely. They do not use any Living Embers, so are not intended for raiding long-term, just entry-level.

Dropped from final bosses in most Heroic Cataclism Instances. May also be purchased on the AH.
Note, you will need a total of 88 Volatile Fire for this recipe.
Its stats make it equally good for DPS or for Tanking. I've been wanting a good tanking axe.
If you are reading this, check it out in 3D. It is deceivingly large for a 1hander! Looks great on an orc. Just sayin'

yep, building this for my orc warrior - 90 expertise rating for free, and axes simply look better than swords
And 3x Chaos Orbs of course.
Strangly, they seem rediculously small on Blood Elf Females. even the Goblin and Gnome versions look bigger. o_O
This axe just looks awesome on a dual-wield male tauren enhancement shaman when transmogrified onto your latest set of (pvp) axes. Put 2x landslide on it for even more awesomeness.
Thanks. This is all excluding procs however, since my Alchemist is a transmute master. I'll definitely be going and mining quite a bit today.
someone on my server put this on ah without realising they setted the wrong price so i ended up buying it for 10g xD
not really interesting, just logical as those are the best stats you can have as DW Frost :P at least... pre-8% hit rating.
But you have to remember. This is like a bajillion times better.
