I've deleted it, I think that was intended for you to still hold it as it is a "book", and maybe you collect them. Or maybe they want you to read it before discarding it as it describes the prophecy of the entire questchain. Maybe both. But yes, like Tears of Elune or Ilidari Soul Prism I think it's safe to delete.
