Pattern: Frostsaber Tunic

Decided to try farming for this on my leatherworking main. First started about four days ago and still no luck. I've killed enough ursas to make a fur comforter for Deathwing and have only a handful of blues for my guild vault - a small pile of greens for my enchanter to DE - more stacks of runecloth than the auction house can handle and enough deep-fried plantains to choke a whale shark. Since posting ones progress on thottbot.com seems to make good luck for players occassionally I'll try it myself and let all of you know how day five goes.

Have established a predictable routine: fly to Everlook - go up on the mountain ridge to the east and start killing. Fly down into the village and kill any ursas there then hit the ones on the hill to the northeast. Fly back to the beginning and repeat. The only break I get is staying in queue for a random dungeon run. This is getting old..

Day 6: have decided to farm for this on an alt who wasn't already exalted with the timbermaws. I went from neutral to honored (almost revered) before calling it a night. More food more runecloth more lousy beads after dozens of clears through the village and still no pattern. I hate furbolgs...

Day 7: didn't get much sleep last night. Dreamed I was at the store...surrounded by ursas...constantly respawning and trying to force-feed me deep-fried plantains. After I woke up I got dressed...waved goodbye to Grizzle Snowpaw on the couch... Couldn't leave for work until the Winterfall Shaman got out of my car...no pattern.

Will there be more days? U want help farming this? Thinking about trying to get this myself, even tho I don't even know if it still exists.. will ask a gm.

Day 10: 77 kills. Ursas...from all sides. Can see it in their eyes...they won't give me the pattern... Snow - blinding...must have pattern...will make me strong. Firewater...firewater will make pattern drop...must have more...patterns...

I believe this pattern is no longer available in game, and has yet to be marked as such on Wowhead.

Don't know if it's still in the game or not, but I picked it up today in the AH for 30g -- edit: asked the seller where he got it - says he had it stored for a while. Don't give up - sometimes they show up on the AH.

Confirmed via in-game GM ticket the other night. The pattern does indeed still drop since Cata. :) Back to farming again and my slow descent into insanity...

My barely-neutral-with-the-Timbermaws alt is now Exalted with them, all without turning in a single set of beads. According to my counter he farmed at least 1314 Winterfall Ursas: picked up a few BS patterns, an untold number of greens to DE, a few nice blues and an Azure Dragon Whelp... BUT NO STINKING PATTERN! I refuse to quit, however. I will now be sending yet another alt to go farm those cursed teddy bears and we'll see if he has better luck. I solemnly swear that if an alt of mine on another server ever picks this up I will MOVE my main over there to get it. URSAS! YOU HAVE NOT HEARD THE LAST OF ME! Iwannabeer WILL know every pattern! someday...(sob).

I was farming for this pattern for the last two weeks, about 4 to 6 hours a day. Found it on the auction house today for 18 gold buy out. I'm assuming that person got it on a drop, and wasn't just clearing their bank or bags. So, if that's the case, apparently this pattern still drops, but at a very low rate.

Today, my friends, my search has ended. I had hoped to tell you all about the shock of seeing this pattern drop as I looted my seven-thousand and eighty second Winterfall Ursa. I wanted to chronicle all of the insane repetitive days of slaughter-rinse-repeat I endured and perhaps list any more blues or dragonling pets that dropped for me while farming this pattern; but it is my regret to inform you all that I simply found it in the AH tonight for a mere 550 gold. In truth, I did pause for a moment to wonder if I should pass it up, continue my farming and find it "honestly", but that thought lasted only a few heartbeats and I gave in... Please don't think me weak, there are still many other (hopefully not-so-rare) patterns for me to find, perhaps this was the gaming gods way of telling me I need to spend more time in Outland looking for the Windslayer Wraps pattern. You're making me feel uneasy... I've been slaughtering ursas in WS for just 2 days. There were neither frostsaber patterns, nor their gear in the AH for these 2 days. I'm drinking my morning coffee now and thinking "Should I start farming again, or draw some tattoo projects?". Yet... Hope still lingers deep in the gloomy outbacks of my forworn mind...

Im pret sure the frostsaber recipes does not exist anymore after pandaria because blizzard have touched the loot tables of the furbolg units, can any1 conform these patterns drop? http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3811455915 I read here

8 months of farming seems a little long, but I, too, share your passion for the complete pattern list. I was hoping to hear of a drop victory, but a score on the A.H. is just as good, I wish you good karma on your future searches and i hope to be as successful as you on this missing pattern.

Not knowing what this was but looking at underminejournal, it popped up as a deal for 10g on Mannoroth. Now I need to figure out what to do with it.

I have been killing a few hundred ursas per day for god knows how long (I'm easilly in the tens of thousands of kills) without having seen a drop so far. I'm starting to suspect the pattern has been removed from the game, but the datamining says otherwise. If anyone can confirm that this patter actually still drops, that would be a great help.

EDIT: Finally this pattern turned up on the AH today for 5k gold. I've spent a ton of hours (no idea how many, but easily 100+, probably a few hundred) trying to get this pattern. It's also the first time in 3 years I have seen it on AH after checking almost daily, so 5k seemed like a bargain. So, apparently it still drops.

Spoke to a GM today as I was planning to hunt for the pattern to get the set for my rogue. He confirmed that the patterns for this, [item=15761] and [item=15747] has been removed from the game.

The only alternative with same skin is [item=10070], unless you know a leatherworker who has the pattern, or are in luck to find the pattern in AH (which I doubt).

Edit: In the light of the pre-patch, the leatherworking interface shows that the pattern is not obtainable, and so the only chance to get your hands on the item made by this is to find a leatherworker who already has it.

Talked to a GM today (2/12/2016) and they DO still drop, they just have an incredibly low drop rate (the GM said less than 1%) Keep farmin, folks!

It is a possibility that the patterns have returned since the conversation I had with a GM. I have yet to test it myself, though, and will update if it is so.

Talked to a GM today (2/12/2016) and CONFIRMED they do still drop, they just have a lower drop rate than may be listed. I asked about all the Frostsaber patterns as well as the Ironfeather Breastplate in the ticket, since I have been farming both with no luck. (I took screen shots but cannot post them since I made an account just to comment! Whoops!)

Was going through old crap in my bank and have nearly 25 diff LW recipes. I have this pattern and its showing its going for 9.999.999 in AH! Damn why so much? The gloves to this set are at 840,000! Crazy gold prices!

All things addon say pattern has been removed from game

As of patch 10.1.7 this has been returned to the game, or the drop rate was significantly increased. It took about 100 kills of Winterfall Shaman & Winterfall Ursa's, but it dropped. If you're hunting this pattern, keep farming. It will drop.

Today, I farmed this pattern, and after killing about 30 Ursa it dropped. Maybe the droprate has changed, or I was insanely lucky.
