Maelie, The Wanderer

Maelie seems to work similarly to the [npc=162765]. She goes missing from Keeper's Respite daily (possibly changed to weekly or bi-weekly on live, as the quest has not reset for me after doing it on day one and Maelie is still standing next to Tinybell), and you can find her in various spots (likely many more than I've found).

ETA: I was able to find Maelie on Tuesday, and then the quest was flagged complete until today, Friday, when I was able to find her a second time. I would suggest either checking the script below or seeing if Maelie is standing next to Tinybell at Keeper's Respite - if the quest is "true" or Maelie is present at KR, she will not be visible even when other players have found her location for the day, because you won't be eligible for the quest. I haven't run into the "player can target Maelie but not see her / quest returns 'false'" issue personally, but perhaps using an "Interact with Target" macro would help? Also, speaking to Tinybell after finding Maelie hasn't made any difference for me personally – it hasn't made the quest reset the next day.

When you click on Maelie, your character casts [spell=355862], and two lines pop up in chat:

Maelie the Wanderer nuzzles you happily.
Maelie the Wanderer is returning to Keeper's Respite.

Maelie appears to be a little different from the Friendly Alpaca, in that, as far as I can tell, she has a static location each day and doesn't disappear/reappear or have only a short time during which players can interact with her. On any given day, all players who are eligible to find Maelie seem to be able to do so at the same location for the entire day. You can check if Maelie is currently 'missing' (and if you are eligible to find her) by running the following script:

On PTR, after I found her on a character a total of 6 times, Tinybell had a quest for me when I went back to Keeper's Respite: Maelie, The Wanderer, which awarded [item=186643]! I'm unsure if the total number of finds on the live/retail version of the game is the same or if it has changed.

Here is a super short guide: You need to find Maelie 6 times in Korthia. Make sure to actually click her and "reassure" her. It only counts once a day. She will not move for 24 hours on the server you are on. On the 6th day, Tinybell will have a quest for you to get the mount! You do not have to talk to Tinybell before clicking Maelie. If you want to know if she is up at any point and it is not posted here, wait to see if the text shows up in chat when you are in front of Tinybell. It will say "Tinybell says: Excuse me, <Name>? Do you have a moment?". If that is not showing up in chat for you on the new day, then she is not supposed to be up. This event has been very, very buggy, though... so no promises that it's working right! Get her while you can! Maelie is up on Sept 1, 2021! Coordinates are 39.8, 34.8. She's hidden in some roots. Up right now on EU servers until the next restart.

US servers will see her after server restart (8am Pacific/ 11am Eastern)
Previously we saw her in this location on August 22 and August 1st!

It's the little section that is just south past Mauler's Outlook. When you get close, you can use /tar Maelie and see her.

Maelie is up on August 30th at coordinates 35.8, 62.2 on a cliff on the side of the mountain. We last saw her here on July 16th and it was a total mess. There is a path down the hill a ways from her, I think the coordinates are approximately 40, 56.5. It will lead up to her. Make sure to hug the hill because you can fall down at some of the spots if you are in the middle of that path. It was the first video I ever made because I didn't want to pay 5,000 gold for a port up from warlocks (sorry warlocks!). Maelie is up on August 25th! She is next to the nest on the ledge... approximate coordinates are 41, 39.8. If you've been in the area then you know exactly how to get to her. If you are new, you can watch people run up the hill a little ways to get to the higher ledges and run across to her. Maelie is up on August 24th - coordinates are around 29.8, 55.6. Just run up the hill there and try not to get stuck in that nest (I may or many not have done that myself). Up on EU right now

Update Aug 19th, 20th - Maelie is off today... Tinybell is not speaking to anyone that we can see!

Update - Aug 18th- Tinybell spoke to people but Maelie was nowhere to be round. Appears the bug is back! : /

Update for August 17, 2021 - Maelie is up today after being gone for 2 days. The coordinates are around 61.25 40.30

Update for August 14th - Maelie is up on August 14, 2021. I sat on an EU server for an hour after the server restart time and Tinybell didn't speak to me at all. However, I got on later today and she started talking to me. I verified that she is up on both the EU servers and the US servers at 59.8, 15.2. Total pain to get to... I ran up the left side and just kept jumping along the right side of the last ledge. (Like with going up any ledge in this area, when in doubt, jump.... it doesn't always help, but helps a bit when you feel stuck.)

For people without coordinates, she is overlooking the road leading away from Korthia to the North. Up on that ledge... maybe she is watching the new people come into the area. ;)

Update for August 13th - Woo hoo! Maelie is up today, August 13, 2021! She is above Mauler's Outlook at approximate coordinates 43, 31.

We saw her here last on July 23... I'm trying to keep track to see if there is some kind of pattern, but the off days do not seem to have a pattern and are more often than the on days.
Up on EU servers as of the time of writing this, but won't be up in the United States servers until server restart at 8am Pacific/ 11am Eastern!

Mailie will not be available in that location in the United States until server restart (8am PT/ 11am ET)

It can get confusing on dating things because server restart is not at midnight. So, until server restart, Maelie is in the previous days location (mentioned below). Server restart has already occurred for EU servers on August 10, so she is up on the chain already.

I should specify that she is up on the EU servers right now but won't be up until 8am Pacific/ 11am Eastern on August 9th in the US. I know people don't like the videos, but there are still a lot of people that find them useful so I will keep posting to help others for now even though I get rated down. : /
