You should be in the feasting area, just outside Stormwind
(This post assumes that you are continuing the quest sequence (as listed at the top-right of this page).).To get this recipe, read from a Bountiful Cookbook (purchased at Wilmina Holbeck (outside Stormwind) or at a nearby Bountiful Barrel).
Amongst others, it contains:
- 1 x Recipe: Slow-roasted TurkeyFIRST - HUNTING:
You need to kill FORTY Wild Turkeys (5 for this quest, 20 for Daily: Can't Get Enough Turkey (towards Achievement: Pilgrim's Progress) and 40 total (including the 5 and the 20) for Achievement: The Turkinator, which is a requirement of the season, so take some time to think about it. Don't get to 39 and have someone kill that last one!
To hunt wild turkeys, you can use:
- Tracker Snacks, if you are not a hunter (at Derek Odds (Dalaran))
- A macro. Create a simple target macro (/tar wild)
- NPC names: Turn on NPC Names (Game Menu >> Interface >> Names >> (Tick) NPC Names)- Hunters might be tempted to just turn on "Track Beasts" and run around. That will get you far, but you'll need more luck too. Instead, turn OFF "Track Beasts" (so there are no confusing dots, on the minimap) use the target macro and, as soon as you have a live one, drop a Hunter's Mark on it. I was able to string one to the other.
- Hunters may also want to turn their pets passive. If you have a pet on aggressive or defensive and you are shooting around a tree and don't get the shot off properly, the pet might charge and kill the turkey before it's properly shot.
Some general tips:
- You have a 30 second timer, that gets refreshed with each kill. Don't waste it, but do use it. Find a kill, but then rotate and look for another one, rather than just running off to nowhere.- The land around Westbrook Garrison (SW of Stormwind) is rich with Wild Turkeys. You can either do the hunter stringing tactic I mentioned or pop some Tracker snacks or try something else, but just below the gates of Stormwind, down to Westbrook Garrison and then further into Hogger territory, are the areas that worked for me.
- It's best to hunt when there are less people around, but it's not impossible at other times. You'll just have to ride further away, the more people there are. 7am or before? You should be fine. 7pm? You will have to ride into the distance.
- It might even be worth taking a ride around, to see which areas are rich in turkeys.
SECOND - COOKING:
To make this recipe, you require:
- 1 x Wild Turkey (hunt, in Elwynn Forest)
- 2 x Honey
- 1 x Autumnal HerbsMake Slow-Roasted Turkey. Repeat, until you have:
- 25 x Slow-Roasted Turkey (5 for this quest & 20 more for Daily: Can't Get Enough Turkey (towards Achievement: Pilgrim's Progress))Head for Darnasus. Hand in.
Congratulations on your achievements!

Kaytie:
These recipes stay orange for forever, it makes it stupidly easy to level an alt's cooking. Try doing the quests on an alt, levelling their cooking as you go, and you should end up with enough "spares" to cover a couple of sets of the dailies, as well as achieving max level cooking with minimal pain. This is incorrect as you will see if you look at the recipes -
Spice Bread Stuffing is Yellow: 90 Green: 102 Grey: 115
Pumpkin Pie is Yellow: 150 Green: 162 Grey: 175
Cranberry Chutney is Yellow: 210 Green: 222 Grey: 235
Candied Sweet Potato is Yellow: 270 Green: 282 Grey: 295
Slow-roasted Turkey is Yellow: 330 Green: 342 Grey: 355Ergo you cannot achieve the maximum cooking level with these recipes.
It seems you have to cook the slow roasted turkey after you accept the quest, to get credit for both parts, for cooking them and turning in the cooked item.
i killed all 40 turkeys and cooked them all, then accepted the quests at the various capital cities and it gave me credit for the finished product, but not for actually cooking them!
went back and killed more turkeys to kill :(

Description
Every Pilgrim's Bounty feast requires a magnificent centerpiece, and I'm not talking about a decorative horn of plenty, either. No, the focus of the meal is a magnificent roast turkey. There's a good recipe for it in your bountiful cookbook. Why not hunt some wild turkeys and prepare a few? The turkeys wander all over Elwynn Forest, so you shouldn't have a problem finding one. Once you're done roasting them, will you bring them to Isaac Allerton near the gates of Darnassus?
