The Lost of Teldrassil

If you are like me, you just want to know where the souls are. Here's the coordinates.

If you do this quest in a group and click the same soul it will count as 2 of the 3.

However, there's three named souls you must rescue. You have to rescue each of these 3.

In a group we had this issue. We returned to Ysera and even though the quest was marked complete in our quest logs, we couldn't turn in.

We did NOT drop and re-accept the quest. Instead we went back to the Maw and rescued the last soul (yellow dot on the mini map). We immediately got the 'objective complete' text. Then we were able to turn in to Ysera.

This quest chain popped up for me today. I hit 15 renown a few days ago as some other commenters here did, but others here are not 15 so I don't know what the trigger was.

ETA: On 1/16/21, the week we finished the covenant chapter 9 and reached renown 23, I received two more quests from Ysera to rescue Kaldorei souls from the maw. Both quests were called "No Wisp Left Behind" and do not appear to be documented here on Wowhead. She sent me to the Tremaclum for 8 Kaldorei souls, and when I returned them, she re-offered the same quest name and asked for 8 more rescues. This time, none of the souls were "named" individuals. They bow to Shandris and Ysera and then most of them depart the Heart of the Forest to find someplace in Ardenweald, I guess! A few find spots inside the tree and are called "Night Elf Soul", and offer limited dialog about their new home. I am starting to think that this might be building up an "army" of night elf souls that we will later leverage to help find/save Tyrande.

I will add some info here for those who cannot complete it due to the bugs.

For this quest, Ysera sends you into the Maw, to the Tremaculum to rescue three specific souls who were lost when Teldrassil burned. They are named spirits in the area, and have a tiny bit of text dialog when you click them to rescue them.

When you return to Ysera with the three souls, they materialize next to you in a Night Fae blue form but as their night elf appearances, not an animal. They bow to Shandris, and she returns their respect. They then walk away and take up posts in the Heart of the Forest, as follows:

Astarii Starseeker - stands beside the pool outside the Mushroom transport alongside Jandria. Her dialog is:

When I closed my eyes, I thought the next face I would see would be Elune's.

Thank you for not giving up on us.

Jandria - standing with Astarri. Her dialog is:

Elune has not forgotten us. You, saving us, is proof of that.

I wonder if there is still a part for us to play, a duty to fulfill.

We must be patient.

Denelan - He goes downstairs and begins to tend the plants behind Sesselie. His dialog is:

Have you ever seen such a glorious forest? The trees!

Thank you for getting me out of that awful place, so that I could see it with my own eyes.

Ysera then gives you a follow up quest that is missing from Wowhead, called "From a Dark Place". You are to return to the Tremaculum and find three more lost souls from Teldrassil.

When you return with them, they bow to Shandris, who returns their respect, and then move off to different spots in Heart of the Forest, as noted here:

Anaris Windwood - she takes up a guard-like post near Ysera and Shandris. Her dialog is:

The war exacted a terrible toll on our people. More so than anyone else.

It cannot go unanswered.

Ilthalaine - He stands just inside the door leading out to the training area. His dialog:

For so long I helped guide young, ambitious elves to find their path.

Now I am at the beginning of my own adventure. I wonder, is this how they felt, stepping into a new grove for the first time?

Ferryn - goes to stand in Lady Muunn's area. He somewhat frequently shapeshifts between his elven form, a bear, and a panther. His dialog is:

Thank you for bringing me back.

If you're planning to return to the Maw, could you keep an eye out for someone?

Her name is Delaryn.

I presume that the Delaryn he refers to is Captain Delaryn Summermoon, who Sylvanas killed in the Burning of Teldrassil cinematic.
