Crafting estimate at current listings

At current lowest listed prices one craft shows an estimated profit of 293 gold25 silver, but the crafted item’s listing is far from its 30-day median (see below).

Crafted item, lowest listed price: 397 gold97 silver
Auction House cut (5%): 19 gold89 silver
Estimated profit at that listed price: 293 gold25 silver (+346%)

Evidence: 9 current listings holding 222 units of the crafted item in the US region. We see listings, not sales, so how many sell and at what price is unknown.
Outlier: the crafted item’s lowest listing is 50 times its 30-day median of 8 gold, so this estimate rests on a listing far above its usual level.

Reading these numbers

At current lowest listed prices the 3 reagents for one craft of Contract: Tortollan Seekers cost 84 gold82 silver. Most of that is Crimson Ink - 8 at 9 gold87 silver each, 78 gold96 silver, 93.1% of the whole basket. Watch that one price and you have watched most of this recipe.

Break-even is 89 gold28 silver - below that listed price the craft loses gold once Blizzard’s 5% cut is taken. The crafted item’s lowest listed price is 397 gold97 silver, which clears it.

At that listed price the gross margin before fees is 313 gold15 silver; the Auction House would keep 19 gold89 silver of a sale, leaving 293 gold25 silver. That is an estimated 345.7% return on the gold you put into reagents, after the cut has taken 6.4% of the gross.

Listing depth right now: 222 units across 9 auctions region-wide. Depth separates a market price from a single asking figure, but listings are not sales, so read it alongside the estimate.

Costs use each reagent’s lowest listed price; the estimate is the crafted item’s lowest listed price, times the items one craft makes, minus those reagents and Blizzard’s 5% sale cut. Listings are asking prices, not sales. Recalculated every snapshot and left blank rather than guessed when a price is missing. How we estimate crafting profit →
