Based on the [item=68687] icon, this red fish turns BLUE when cooked.

Theories:

Seems like this particular color change occurs under one of the following (cooking) circumstances:

2. When fish dies, it turns blue.

4. Chemical reaction: When fish is cooked together with other ingredient (besides water of course), it turns blue.

6. When fish is hot, it turns blue.

Conclusions:

2. Considering that the fish dies a while after we fish it, and that it's still red in our bag, the death theory is rejected.

4. Considering that the Scalding Murglesnout recipe doesn't mention other ingredients, the chemical reaction theory is rejected.

6. Considering that the fish remains red even in Uldum, and that the weather in Uldum is always hot, the fish may turn blue only above the boiling point of 100°C... (?)

Advice for consumers: Color change occurs only on fresh fish... If you cook it and it's still red, DO NOT - I repeat - DO NOT eat it.
(If you however decide to go for it because you ran out of other health/mana food, consider the toilet paper as your next best friend.)
