Dances with Oozes (25 player)

Completed this tonight. Essence of what we did (which afaik is the same strategy used by most) was to allow large oozes to merge. So we merged the first two little oozes, I then kited the large ooze. The next two little oozes were allowed to merge and that large ooze merged with the one I kited. We did his till the large ooze had four stacks. At that point a second kiter started the process over. We needed a third kiter to pick up a final large ooze. It gets a little hectic and crowded but it's fun!

In the Rotface encounter, when Mutated Infection is removed or ends, a Little Ooze is created. Oozes will try to run together and when two have merged they form a Large Ooze. In order to prevent Unstable Ooze Explosion from casting, a Large Ooze must merge with no more than 4 Little Oozes. On the 5th merge, she will stop and explode.

It is currently unknown, as of Patch 3.3.0a, if these are immune to stun, or other forms of CC. As the Large Oozes are slow moving, it is suggested that they are simply kited which makes sense due to the achievement name. Note that Large Oozes can merge, which add their stacks of Unstable Ooze and will explode if they are greater than 5.

If they are able to be killed or chain CCed, these may be much more efficient options.

To be clear: The only real "trick" to this achievement is that single-stack Big Oozes only add one stack to other Big Oozes when they merge. By combining Small Oozes into single stack Big Oozes before combining them with other oozes, you effectively cut your ooze stacking rate by half.

It will still require good DPS and some creative kiting toward the end, but that certainly helps. For my group, we had two four-stack Big Oozes on our main kiters and a third Big Ooze picked up by a hunter when the boss died. There were also a few Small Oozes up.
