If you're looking to maximize happiness per event, I put together groupings for guests that share the same interests to make it easier to make them all happy in one fell swoop.

An easy achievement. You can't invite some of the guests until a level 4 Ember Court. By then you've probably gotten a few to Elated.

Bumping up to a level 5 allows you to "adjust dials" for each trait pairing. Messy vs. Clean, Casual vs. Formal, etc. etc. The "dials" are five people scattered across the Ember Court near the various stations (food, entertainment, muck pool, security, and the folks in charge of invitations). Talk to each one allows you to direct your staff how to run the party along those themes.

There are a host of other things that can improve the mood of your guests as well. So many that's it's not worth listing them all. If you're actually reading up on this, you've probably figured out Ember Court well enough you can get everyone to elated without a guide. It's not difficult.
