Pursuing Loyalty

Steps taken to unlock all on Loyalty difficulty:
(Sanctum upgrade level 2 you do not need rank 3)

Note: All challengers are incredibly easy to defeat on Loyalty difficulty as Pelagos with either Herald's Footpads or Phial of Serenity & no charms.
The innkeeper a few feet to the left of Poalone sells a nice little box that contains lots of reagents so you don't have to farm anything except shards.

- Do the intro questline & gather up 5 Soul Mirror Shards at a time. (You will need a total of 45 for every challenger but don't try to farm all at once.)
- Beat the first 3 on Courage first to be able to get the quests to unlock the next 3 opponents.
- Finish the quests to unlock the next 3 opponents.
- Defeat the next 3 on Courage to unlock the first 4 on Loyalty difficulty.
- Beat one of the bosses on Loyalty & the quests to capture another 3 will become availible.
- Finish the quests to unlock the final 3 challengers. (Note: Athanos is not needed.)
- Defeat Mad Mortimer & Thran'tiok on Courage difficulty to unlock Loyalty for the rest of them.
- Beat the rest of the challengers on Loyalty diffculty.

Congrats on your achievement. You are now one step closer to Veilstrider title :)

Are you angry as heck trying to do this stupid Achievement thing in 2025? Me too.

2. Get your Sanctum anima and souls up to purchase Path of Ascension Rank 2.

4. Go to Path of Acension, fight and LOSE to the first opponent, Kalisthene. Just jump off, accept the garbo quests about crafting gear to get good.

6. Go again, this time kill every opponent you can on the lowest difficulty. Pelagos can probably one shot them. IT WILL APPEAR YOU AREN'T GETTING CREDIT, THIS IS FINE.

8. You're doing this for two reasons - (a) all 6 of the first opponents must be defeated at each difficulty to unlock the next difficulty, (b) some opponents drop blueprints for unlocking other heroes/quests

10. If Dactylis has any capture quests, create the items (by using his dialogue box to access the crafting menu) that he requires to give you the opponent capture quest and complete it. You will need to do this repeatedly mixed with the previous step just to unlock all 6 of the initial opponents.

12. After the first 6 opponents are defeated, you can now fight Kalisthene on Loyalty difficulty. Go beat her down. You will get achievement credit this time.

14. After defeating her, Dactylis will start giving quests for the last two opponents. In any order you want, (a) finish up the remaining the opponents on Loyalty difficulty for achievement progress (Splinterbark and Corinth won't let you do this just yet) (b) finish "capturing" the last two clowns for this robot, Mad Mortimer and Thran'tiok.

16. Kill Mad Mortimer and Thran'tiok on the lowest difficulty, then Splinterbark and Corinth on Loyalty difficulty, then Mad Mortimer and Thran'tiok on Loyalty difficulties. You are doing this in a stupid order because some enemies require you to kill others before unlocking their higher difficulty.

18. Were you part way through this years ago and Dactylis isn't giving you the quest even though you killed Kalisthene on Loyalty difficulty? Go look up those quest chains on wowhead, and run the quest-complete strings to figure out which step you used to be on.

20. Give yourself a big angry pat on the back, you're getting closer to being done with the meta achievement.

Do not waste your anima and souls for rank 5 upgrade if you care only about the Back from the Beyond (Legacy), it's very easy on rank 3 already, using Pelagos for everything. Overall, after upgrading Path to rank 3 it's doable in a few hours, most of which is running around the map for memories. By far the least time-consuming achievement for Shadowlands Dilettante.
