TheWoWDBThis guys spell cast absolutely chunks, like 50% max health at 280 ilvl. However, he doesn't leash and reset like a normal mob. If you stand outside of his range you can free cast on him and he'll remain in combat and only cast his AoE cone, which won't reach you.

It does but it's hard to see/get. Try to kill something away from the ground where the boss is standing so you can loot it easier.

The game data tunes Abysslick for level 90, Midnight content.
The map marks it with vignette 7,138, which the client hides once hidden tracking quest 94462 is complete. In game, /run print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(94462)) prints true when that quest is flagged for your character.
