TheWoWDBThis quest is not terribly intuitive. I flew into the cave, fought and subdued the Aquilon several times, only for it to yellow and despawn on me. What you have to do is stop briefly outside the cave to meet up with an NPC who you will escort into the cave and only then will this quest function as it should.

"Get effed," Blizzard said to every single hunter when they made this particular quest. Because for some reason, they decided both that aquilons would be tamable, and also that the only eligible one in the entire game (at time of posting) would be one that only shows up during this limited phasing, one-time-only quest that's required for unlocking the newest dungeon.
