We NEED dis land! Da cataclysm destroyed our home!Probably the reason behind the attacks/stirring up of other troll tribes via to two cata troll dungeons, they would be pretty desperate to do anything to potentially rile up the horde and allaince given that they were longer the great power they used to be in ancient times.
Yes I have heard arguements that the zandalari were never friendly, and I concur, they weren't, but they weren't stupid and retarded either and were among the most neutral ish, not openly xenophobic of the troll tribes besides the darkspears.
In vanilla they have us put down hakkar, kill the prophets, kill jindo and the bloodlord.
In BC they do not lift a damn finger to help the amani
In frozen throne, they are once again paying us off to help suppress the drakkari which are killing their gods
then in cata.... they are actually supporting the gurubashi, to suck the life from a god (hakkar) and have given jindo their support to re enact his prior plan of enslaving animal spirits and binding their power to avatars.
they help out the amani, a tribe which they had previously ignored and left to rot.then in mop we see drakkari, amani and gurubashi among their numbers.
what could have caused them to such a rash decision (besides blizzard writing their story line), losing the islands near/in the maelstrom upon which they live.?
There would be no safer place for them to live than in pandaria with the mogu if they could pull it off. The alliance and horde would never let them rebuild/move all their crap to azeroth or kalimdor.
Its the only explanation behind their behavior, as the zandalar generally exist to hoarde knowledge for trolls/by trolls, to ensure the survival of ancient troll culture and protect/serve their gods. Unfortunately they are pulling the same crap they had us kill the drakkari for doing, going "power mad" sacrificing their "souls" as it were. Long term sacrifice for short term gain.
They have lost way too trolls and troll tribes in general with their flip flop behavior and probably lost lots "rep" with remaining tribes, and non troll races.
Look how few troll tribes were present here, and how the drakkari were only present via 1 mob type.
If this last ditch effort fails(which it will of course due to loot reasons) they are screwed, horribly horribly screwed. Ooked in the dooker.
They could have tried becoming nicer, nice enough to be tolerated on a mainland, but god forbid we give up mass soul eating/sacrificing and try to become just politically correct enough to not be wiped out, god forbid. The only people that would have them are the mogu, due to being similar culturally.
They are both based on power, via flesh/souls as parts/ingredients, and very xenophobic
The only other similar groups would be the various bug peoples, but they are ancient rivals, and also old god worshippers (the azj aqir and mantids are atleast)
Other troll tribes have wisened up and realized that its a new world and you can't afford to be isolated and an openly racist supremist and imperialist in today's world. You have various troll tribes just sticking to their territories, while being hostile to outsiders, not being particularly aggressive like the zulfarrak trolls.
You have the darkspears and revantusks with the horde. You have the smolderthorns still allied with the orcs and ogres of blackrock mountain.Groups like the mogo and zandalar trolls are a dying breed, they have failed to adapt and so they die. They need to take a page out of the nerubians book. They are just as racist, supremist and imperialistic as zandalars, yet are willing to suck it up when faced with reality and be friends (for now).
He does one of two things at one time, cycling between them throughout the fight.
1: Cast a direct offensive spell at you, while making the ground damaging to you. Stand on the stone table in front of him to avoid the ground damage - careful you don't get caught on the skulls when you move up and down.
2: Channel an AoE spell centered on himself. Just stand away from him when he does this.
