Ok this recipe is NOT worth buying. I was thinking about buying it for 150g. Some guys whispers me to just go farm it in scholo. I look up the info on Wowhead and see that 4% should get me the recipe fairly quickly. I clear teh first room of skellys and in the second room I killed the first spectral researcher, the pat the comes near or onto the stairs. And whata you know, the recipe dropped, on my very first Spectral Researcher kil. This thing could probabl be farmed for hours on end and you could make a lot of gold. I don't know if I am just lucky or what but the guy who told me to farm it

This is an awesomely fun enchant for PVPing. But, if you have some decent gear, and need something to grind with, I'd suggest duel-wielding two Skullforge Reavers and enchanting them with this. You'll gain so much HP as you attack that you'll have close to NO downtime.

You can get this solo as a rogue by sneaking in and killing the spectral researchers. I did it on my lvl 60 with average gear, and i havent been raiding with him. I used some pots like winterfall firewater and instant poisons. You can stealth all the way and avoid all the other mobs. Jump down from the bridge at the beginning where the 4 skeletons are. Open the doors and stealth all the way around to the room where the spectral researchers are. Be sure to wait for the patrols. When you finally get to the room, the easiest one to kill is under the stairs. Theres another one patrolling but its harder to kill without aggroing other mobs. It took me about 10 runs to get the formula. It was worth it.

Just to elaborate and clarify: Yes, it's very easy, and furthermore a high level rogue (I'm 69) could easily kill most mobs in the room using sap (there are a few groups of three that I never got to; not sure how doable they are), though whether this is faster than getting the single pulls and resetting I couldn't tell you. Mine dropped on maybe the 3rd or 4th researcher kill. The neophytes and researchers are very easy (although watch out for a big researcher knockback), the skeletons hit pretty hard but are overall not difficult, and the acolytes are the most annoying but doable (cast dark m

Although this enchant is fun, it's really not worth the mats. I'd suggest the CRUSADER enchant (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=20034) instead. It heals for 100 (lifestealing is only compbined of 30 + 30 = 60), and it grants 100 strength, which does more than 30 more damage (not per hit, but per proc).

And it's cheaper.

Celia+16via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

"however you'll often see rogues with this..." That's because, over time, Crusader is better than +15 Agility - not just in terms of the healing, but the +100 Attack Power for the short duration adds more damage than the constant AP and crit from +15 Agility. The longer the fight, the more Crusader separates itself from +15 agility. Even in the off hand, Crusader can be better in the long term than +15 Agility depending on the particular player. Heavy use of Slice and Dice, Shiv, and Mutilate all push towards more Crusader procs. The only situation where +15 Agility is clearly superior is in

kokusho+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I agree. The mats are way too expensive when Crusader is most often the better choice. As an enchanter, however, it is a great enchant to have because many people will pay good money for it. I highly recommend farming for this if you don't have the money to buy one from the AH.

Raw healing wise, Lifestealing is better. Lifestealing has 6 procs per minute, while Crusader only has 1 proc per minute if I recall correctly. Crusader is really only useful for classes that benefit from the massive str buff it does (read: warriors, shamans, etc.), however you'll often see rogues with this...

10048-2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

This is a great enchant for any class. Obviously better for some than others. What seemed the most useful to do though is to enchant a my main hand weapon with cruisader, then go for life stealing on the hand. The lack of down time is great. Pvp action even better.

frmrpreztaft+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

While crusader may heal you for more and give a strength proc, lifestealing procs CONSTANTLY. I barely go more than 3-4 swings without a lifesteal.

It's really a matter of personal preference. Lifesteal on twink rogues at 29 or 39 is brutal, because it also damages your target.

One of the rarest enchants in game, took me about 160 Scholo runs to get it - and it dropped from the very last ghost that run. One I'd even forget about, unless a friend didn't point out that we didn't kill one under the stairs. Tough luck! :) Basy @ Hellscream EU, Alliance side.

I've just gotten one of a lvl 59. I have been only killing level 60s because of your comment and i've seen the lvl 59 patrol that ends path near the stairs and i thought i could kill him anyway since theres no need to kill other mobs, surprisingly the formula dropped.

25685-2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I think that the drop rate must have increased recently because I picked up 4 of these in 4 straight runs soloing scholo for gold. I just gave them away to guildies. These shouldn't sell for 400G given the drop rate and the fact that there are much better high level enchants.

really easy to farm and sell on ah for a decent amount. first one sold for 250 and the 2nd for 280 on my server. But i dont recommend farming these constantly since they aren't bought to often (takes me a couple days to sell one).

38680-1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It can be farmed in under 10 minutes by anyone who's at least 65. (You can farm it at 60 but it might take a bit more work than those who are 65-70). There was this one guy who farmed 20 of them, he had 20 of these formulas up on the AH - DO NOT BUY, GO FARM (Unless you're not high enough to do so)

What about the dodge and haste factor of +15 agi? I have crusader on a 2h weap, but use either a dagger with agi or a sword with Lifesteal combined with shield. If I have a healbot I use the 2h thumper with Crusader and do massive dam, but otherwise the shield and either Lifesteal or Sup. Agi. is the way to go by a long shot.

Roughly 2 weeks ago I was easily able to farm this, and would get multiple drops before I'd reach the max number of times I was able to reset for that time frame. Over the past week though, I have ran it daily..... Reset it the max # of times... and I have not been able to get a SINGLE one to drop. anyone know if the drop rate has been nerfed, or completely removed from these mobs? I hope not. These still sell for 80-100g on my server, it was easy gold =(.

Did you people know that Lifestealing is superior to Crusader for Rogues in any case? And that it is a close match to Crusader for the STR=2 AP classes (warrior, shaman, druid, paladin) ? Acoording to the aforementioned http://rogerkarlsson.com/blogs/wow/lifestealing/ the proc rate of Lifestealing is 4.72 PPM. If the maths are done correctly, you will coem out to something like this: Crusader: 3.57 DPS (+2 AP class)/ 1.78 DPS (1 AP class) , 1.66 HPS (healing per second) Lifestealing: 2.36 DPS , 2.36 HPS 15 AGI: 2.14 DPS(+2 AP class) 1.07 DPS (+1 AP class), bit of dodge/crit So as you see, Lifestealing is superior to 15 AGI in any case except hunters, superior to Crusader for Rogues, and a very good match against Crusader for other classes- depends on whether you want healing (LS) or damage (CR). People seem to think Crusader is something heavenly. It's just some added damage and healing- not all that much! So as you see

siggboy+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Warhead, your math is correct, but in the case of Crusader the following must be taken into account: you only get the full theoretic DPS benefit from it if the effect never overwrites itself (re-procs). Each time that Crusader refreshes itself, you effectively lose some of the 15 second buff that has just been overwritten, which will lower the average STR increase from the enchant.

101038+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It's not a set PPM like SoCommand where there's a cap, but rather it's a % chance like Windfury. If you read the guide he says he got about ~4/minute just auto attacking, but by using Slice and Dice and Sinister Strike, it boosted the Lifestealing proc to ~8/minute.

326790+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The % chance to proc a ppm (proc per minute) effect is based on *base* weapon speed. Any instant attacks (sinister strike) or haste (SnD) used with a ppm effect weapon would increase it's effective procs per minute because it would proc as frequently as though you were attacking at base speed, but thanks to SnD or haste etc... you would be attacking much more quickly, procing more times per minute. Lifestealing is in fact a ppm effect. This is part of the reasoning behind the preference for slow weapons, among other things.

53267+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The Roger Karlsson blog says 4.722 PPM, but recently I have seen sources state that Lifestealing has the same proc rate as Fiery: 6 PPM! http://www.wowwiki.com/Enchant_Weapon_-_Lifestealing If this is true, Lifestealing would total up to 3 DPS and 3 HPS, making it the best pre-35 weapon enchant when combining DPS and HPS (in which case LS gets 6 DPS+HPS while Crusader only gets 5.238 DPS+HPS).

I would like to add that the purple color of the enchant does not override any current natural glows on your weapon. I recently was doing a nostalgic Onyxia run and also got my Quel'serrar for fun, and I vaguely remembered seeing someone with a purple (instead of green) Quel'serrar about 2 years ago, so I figured it was lifestealing and I was going to go for it. I didn't think it would work, and it didn't, but it was worth a shot. So now I have a green glowing sword with lifestealing on it.

Arthonor-2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I miss stats about the lower effect for players above lvl 60 ? Plus test about the boost of lifesteal with plus spell dmg and healing. it seems that the dagger heals dependant of the dmg it does. so would it heal more if only plus shadow dmg or just plus spell dmg. ? perhaps it will not heal more with plus healing. ? Perhaps plus spell dmg and healing would boost it twice. ?

Arthonor-2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I am a lvl 64 Rogue. I have Lifestealing on my slow offhand. It procs very often I think. I have not counted or anything, but guess an average of 2 or 3 times in a battle. Got to have it on mainhand too :D Lifestealing gives 28 shadow dmg and heals for 33. I have points in talent "Quick Recovery" ( http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31245 ) I tryed to use wizard oil on both weapons. This gave me bonus 72 spell dmg and healing. Nothing changed :(
